I'm more of a rap kind of guy, honestly. And those three I wouldn't really consider "metal," but then again I wouldn't consider Evanescence metal either.

Okay, my tops at the moment would be ORBS. For the past while, when I've wanted metal, I've gone to ORBS, and they have yet to let me down.
My top 3 period though would probably be Nightwish (pre-Anette. Not that I hate Anette, just Tarja was better in my opinion), Sonata Arctica, and Cradle of Filth (yeah, bring on the hate. I love them).

I'm into the whole symphonic and power metal, stuff like stratovarius, nightwish, kamelot, sonata arctica, hammerfall, Rhapsody of fire..

Animals as Leaders.
Bear in mind that's by far their most intense song, most of the rest are more proggy/jazz fusion-style. It's a really interesting band.
