[HEADING=3]Simple question,

What is your favourite movie in a genre you generally dislike or rarely watch?[/HEADING]

For me it would be Juno, watched it for the first time 2 days ago, since then I've watched it 7 times and I'm on my 8th viewing now - didn't expect to enjoy it at all, but I think it's hilarious!

I suppose my least favorite genre would be musicals.

That said, I really adored <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.303532-2-50-Reviews-Sweeney-Todd-The-Demon-Barber-of-Fleet-Street-2007>Sweeney Todd. Such a good movie.

I too adored Sweeney Todd, I only have Tim Burton to thank for the numerous Johnny Depp / Helena Bonham Carter movies out there, as all of those I've seen are fantastic.

I don't typically enjoy sports movies but I really enjoyed Remember the Titians. Yes I realize it's hardly an accurate portrayal of what happened but screw it, it is a very fun watch every time.

I was shocked when I realized that "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" was a romantic comedy. I usually hate those, but then again it's as far away from the usual formula as you can get.

I actually hate Westerns (I prefer my cowboys to carry Katana as opposed to six-shooters, if you know what I mean) but one of my favorite westerns, of the few I've seen is The Wild Bunch. That movie was brilliant.

I don't like horror movies (not thrillers that's different) they're just boring to me. I did like the first Saw movie though and Sweeny Todd though I wouldn't call that exactly a horror movie.

My wife loves Victorian era movies about royalty and aristocrats, I hate them, I have yet to see one that I've liked. It's especially odd how much she likes movies about British royalty considering she's French.

This is exactly what I wanted to say. Or well, not exactly, but that movie and that genre.

Don't like horror but I loved the original Thing. Fantastic film, loved the characters and setting.

Not big into Rom-Com's considering I'm a dude but...

I really liked The Proposal . I'm not sure why. I assume it's because of Ryan Reynolds.

Best movie ever. I suppose that could be considered another Rom-Com that I like, though I don't really see it as one. It has romantic elements in it but I suppose you could make the argument.

Thing is the only reason I hate rom-coms is because of the formula. You know, the uptight, I-don't-need-a-man-in-my-life girl meets the douchy, in-your-face guy and hate each other for the majority of the movie until the end where they fall in love in a way that makes no sense at all.

I also am not a fan of Rom-Coms, but hell 500 Days of Summer is great!

I also usually dislike period dramas, but technically the Importance of Being Ernest is one, and that's one of my favourite films ever!

Does Baseketball count as a sports movie... or just as a parody? Because it's my favorite sports movie by a longshot... but not my favorite parody.
