Favourite old game?

Dear Escapist, we are going to take a trip back in time today to a time when gamers were not roughly half the population of the world; a time when we gamers were society's outcasts; a time before all these alleged "pro gamers" who only joined the sensation during the current generation of consoles.

We are going back to a time before next gen gaming, to the time of the PSX, N64 and earlier consoles. I want to know what your favourite game of that era was. I must say that personally I loved Final Fantasy 2.

This used to be one of my favorite games. I have some great memories of playing it why my brothers. Still haven't found a game that surpassed it in terms of sheer mindless fun.

Dragon warrior 3 was always my fav old game. It heralded in when i lost my soul to gaming.Also as a very young boy it was the first thing i ever beat my dad at.

Back when I was 7 it was the only final fantasy I could complete. so it's always held a special place in my heart.

Quest for Glory (or, as we knew it back at the time, Hero's Quest: So You Want to Be a Hero?) is my favorite. Part of it is the nostalgia of playing it when I was very young, but I will be god damned if that game didn't have the most charming setting of any video game I've ever played.
