I recently found my old gameboy with Pokemon Yellow still intact inside of it. I turned it on and by some miracle, the battery still worked. So I've been playing it the last few hours and it made me think how unoriginal Pokemon have become in recent games. My personal favourite would have to be Snorlax. He is big, friendly, completely unreliable in combat and can eat his weight in food. He basically reminds me of me...
New Snorlax is a fucking beast though. Ridiculous defenses, can rest to restore all HP, can attack while asleep, and the carry item "leftovers" restore his HP every turn.

My favorite from the original 151 would have to be Dragonite. Badass, powerful, and Dratini/Dragonaire were such a pain in the ass to level, that it felt so satisfying when you finally get him.

I used to be a huge Pokémon fan, and I'd love to share my favourite Pokemon with you, unfortunately I'm from Germany and hardly know any english Pokemon. Let's see, Pikachu, Mewtwo, and that cute brown cat-thing that evolves into these other element cats...

It's a three way tie between Charizard, Ninetails, and Riachu.

Also, Mr. Mime was my favorite Psi pokemon. I'd choose him over Kadabra anytime.

Gengar and Snorlax. Snorlax was a powerhouse, he was strong and had massive HP the only downsize being that he was slow, although that didn't matter really since I always won with him. And I love how gengar looks so evil and happy about it, best character design ever. In terms of combat, you just couldn't beat my Gengar easily, he would go through at least 2 pokemon before going down and even if he got defeated there was some move he had that caused the attacking pokemon to faint as well, I think it was "Destiny Bond"

The original versions were great, and I always used those two as well as other original pokemon no matter what version I was playing in, I stopped playing pokemon when I had to worry about how their randomly assigned personalities would affect my battles and when the newer pokemon began looking like Digimon

Oh, my fave original... probably Mew. I did think he was a cutie. But I loved my first Blastoise, Nik. He was a grand old lvl 75 when my game died. Overpowered and leveled anything in his way. :) * misty eyes *

kadabra.

it was the moment all the effort you put into catching and training that bastard abra paid off, and you got one fucking unstoppable and awesome pokemon.

also in the series he was badass.

Charmeleon (I think that's his name. Regardless, the one between Charmander and Charizard). He's not tiny, not huge, looks cool, and is a fire pokemon. Oh, and he stands on two legs.

Alakazam, definitely.

and as good as Blue/Red were... Silver and Gold were better in nearly every way. And only added on to the pokemon from the first! it was brilliant!
