So pokemon X and Y have made pokemon 3-dimensional, but for me there's no replacement for the retro feel of sprite based monsters! So I have to ask, what are your favourite pokemon sprites?
Mine is my avatar, if only because Tyranitar actually looks intimidating! The majority of his other sprites just have him standing still, arms by his sides, looking dopey. This sprite makes him look active, like he's going to deal some damage!
My second favourite has to be a tie between Scizors heartgold and Scythers pearl sprites. Scyther looks so dynamic, like he's going to decapitate whatever he's facing, and Scizor... I'm not too sure, but the pose looks like it's trying to defend itself whilst still looking aggressive (as a 5 foot tall steel coated bug with giant wire cutters for hands probably should.)
