My green WWII army trench coat. I got it for under $20 buck about 18 years ago. Some old WWII vet had died and I picked it up at his estate sale for cheap. I needed something warm and cheap being the poor bastard I was back then. Not long after I got it (early 90s) I let 2 girls sit on it at a rave on some dusty warehouse floor. One of the wacked out chicks dropped a lit cigarette on it and burned 4 big holes in it on the lower left thigh part on the front. I patched the holes (from the inside so as to keep the shape/form of the burns) with some super nice dark crimson and black cloth. Also mended the worn out collar and cuffs with the same dark crimson and black patterned cloth. Small bells have been sewn inside the cuff straps, and while they are not real obvious or loud, they do give a strange disembodied ambient sound while walking. It has a very thick wool lining(removable) that has kept me warm many a night while out raving in the early 90s. It was great to cuddle with cute girls at raves while keeping them warm in some dark corner. Its quite a punk coat that I will keep forever. I still wear it around the house during the winter or when I want to go out in the rougher parts of town.

Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, a wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell
Funny clothes, tinkling bell

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic
HA HA

My German army shirt. Its real army surplus from 1987 and my dad picked it up for me at a travelling market for £2. I have had it for 7 years, since I was 13, and when my dad got it for me, my mum wanted to kill him, she still does every time she sees me wearing it. I don't care though, its awesome :)

Most likely whatever MP3 player I'm rocking at the time, expensive ones suck.

A tie between all my books (I pretty much only buy books when their under 20 euro's, which limits me to paperbacks, Dune and World War Z excluded); Dune, The Swarm, Discworld novels (collection not yet complete), Dresden Files novels, World War Z and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Yes I don't have a lot of books, but I've only been really buying them for about 2 years, 3 more are on their way.

Honourable mentions go to my Cylon and Ezio figurines, both special editions they came with (Battlestar Galactica DVD box and the AC2 Black Edition) costed quite a lot, but I see those figurines as gifts even though they techically costed quite a lot of money. They're definitely my favourite nerdy possessions though, although the books I mentioned above are pretty nerdy as well.

Moleskine music notebook.

I'm majoring in composition, and the ability to jot down an idea that springs to mind in a wee book in my jacket is invaluable to me (getting it for only $10AU was even better)

My Scandanavian version of Blade runner bought in the netherlands (where I live) can't read the manual but who cares. my PC version of FF VIII and Toonstruck and Resident evil 3 all with their old skool cartboard boxes in near mint condition. My NES I got it for my birthday from a friend a few years ago. I could go on and on got a lot of cheap stuff that I like.
oh, and my Dutch Royal Navy coat from 1964 it's a bit too big for me but it still keeps me warm and dry during the harsh Dutch winters :p

There were certain things I was going to say, then I realized that most of them were over $20 and I then came to the conclusion that I am the reason I am poor.

Anyway, excluding games, movies, music, etc. I'd say my favourite thing under $20 is my Gandhi poster. It goes with me everywhere.

Up until the random poem, this was an awesome story. Wish I was old enough to have raved when pills were pills.
It is lyrics from Black Sabbith "The Wizard". And back then I'm sure the pills were black project government testing. (wink)

For £20, I would have to say my Lion Heart Neck Chain which Squall wears in FFVIII.

I <3 it!
