Yeah so I'm pretty much going to get it now.

Thanks. =]
Grand. Let me know how it is.

But please, don't blame me if you hate it....
I won't be getting it for a while but I'll definately let you know what I think when I get around to it.

Don't worry, if it turns out that I don't like a game that was suggested to me over the internet by someone I've had little contact with it would be foolish to blame them for my lack of enjoyment. You won't be getting any blame from me.

Fable 2. As uni has finished I've got spare time and just can't be assed with the games on my PC at present. I'm doing an evil playthrough and it's pretty fun.

I just upgraded my PC (lovingly nicknames 'The Beast' - as its better than my old one :D) I just need some new games to play on it.

Oh and I orded RD:R on 360 (don't think I can bear waiting for it to come out on PC)

50 days? awwww.... I got nothing. I haven't bought an actual NEW game in 50 days, though I have bought a few used ones, and I'm considering getting a couple games this week.

But, since it's the only game I bought this year that actually came out this year, other than BC2, I'm just gonna say Mass Effect 2. It's that awesome, and I still play it sometimes.

I think Metro 2033 came out in the last 2 months, so that counts.

Very, very good game. I would say it's the best first person linear game since Half Life 2. So tense, graphics are great, shooting is great, it's all great.
Agreed. But the voice acting is better in Russian (which I am)...in English IMHO it's ridiculous. And once you figure out that in most cases the extended revolver is your best friend against the Dark Ones...the game becomes a cakewalk.

Red Dead Redemption.

Not very far into it, but it seems to be all that was good in GTA4 remastered and put into a rock solid western scenario, with a story that's shaping up to be great, and massive game world with even more freedom than GTA, and which seems alive and breathing. And not a whiny cousin within 200 miles...

I was on the fence with it, as I found it hard to believe the whole western scenario could make for great third-person gameplay, but the excellent reviews (and some chance extra cash coming my way) got the better of me, and boy was I ever in the wrong about something.

Dear god it has to be Red Dead Redemption.

I just finished the story tonight and I was simply left astounded. Astounded at the story, the characters, the plot twists, everything. It is amazing. I can honestly say, in my opinion, it is one of the most well made, finely crafted and generally best game I've ever had the luxuary to play.

Deadly Premonition. yes, the graphics, sound, and gameplay all suck pretty badly.. but it's still a fun game to play. the characters are interesting, the story is mysterious, violent, and funny. plus it was only $20.

The Humble Indie Bundle is what I last purchased, and because all of the games in it are awesome, I'm just going to say the whole bundle is my favorite.

Oh, wait. I bought Mr. Robot a few days after that, and though overall it's fun, I just can't forgive the crappy un-precise platforming they're forcing me to do. Asimov is aimed rather than controlled, and shit I just did something dangerously close to quoting Yahtzee...

I've been considering that one for a while... I heard there are some annoying, frustrating parts in it later on, is that true?

Still, even if it is I will probably get this eventually as it looks really different and proper scary.

Um...

Y'know, I cannot think of a single recent game that has been truly good, let alone great. Just a whole bunch of "okay".

- Mass Effect 2 has been pretty good to me. It's not great or anything, but it's head and shoulders above most of the other crap.
- Bioshock 2 would have been good if it wasn't completely overshadowed by its predecessor.
- Metro 2033 was nifty. Very flawed, but somehow still good.

Ah well. They can't all be brilliant. Guess I'll just have to hold out till Portal 2.

(And uh, Valve? Guys? Please don't screw that up.)

I apologize for not answering exactly to specifications, but I've bought nothing new lately.

On the other hand, the demo for Just Cause 2 was absolutely amazing.

Buying a game with cold hard cash though? God of War 3. It was a satisfying finale I guess.

SMt: Strange Journey for two reasons, one it's the only "recent game I've bought in a while. Second this is what Persona PSP should have been gameplay wise.

Record of Agarest War.

Beneath Aksys' hilarious marketing campaign lies a solid SRPG that's not afraid to be difficult. Characters are likable, the music's great, the story's solid and the "Soul Breeding'" system is a unique and interesting mechanic that makes it different from other SRPGs.
