Pretty much this. However, when I'm waiting for Faction Battle in Guild Wars, I tend to play "The Waiting" by Tom Petty since it tends to take several minutes sometimes.

Actually, GW is the only game in which I never play music. I love the soundtrack.

I sometimes listen to Through the fire and the flames while playing fps's . It makes you to want the game to go faster.

For MMOs, I tend to listen to Blind Guardian's "A Night at the Opera" or Nightwish's "Once" albums while playing City of Heroes, and various Dragonforce songs while playing WoW.

Non-MMOs, various Gurren Lagann pieces go well with Super Smash Brothers (especially Libera Me From Hell and Nikopol), and I recently found that "When the Lights Are Down" by Kamelot goes very well with that swordfighting minigame in Wind Waker.

Other than that I just put on a play list with my favourite songs on shuffle.
