Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran, Lewis Black, and the late Mitch Hedburg are the kings of comedy.

Bill Bailey reigns supreme, though. Always.

Demitri Martin or Jim Gaffigan.
I think so too

I think that politics has gotten to far into humor and those two comedians grasp that I don't want to hear about politicians when I'm trying to unwind I just want to relax

Lewis Black, definitely. If you'll excuse me, I have to watch Black on Broadway again...

Other than him, George Carlin, Bill Engvall, Andy Griffith, and Brian Regan. I've heard good things about Eddie Izzard, but I haven't watched a whole lot of him (except the beekeeper thing...which was hilarious).

Jeff Dunham. Love his achmed skits, like jingle bombs
YESSS!!! he is pretty much the pants. my other favorites are ron white and dane cook. the whole blue collar comedy tour gang is pretty awesome. especially since im actually from the south so i cant relate to a lot of what they're saying
Dane Cook. I'm not gonna go on about the clicheness of that, mostly because I'm on probation for "flaming" people, but also because I did genuinely like the guy for a while. Then, as I listened and watched more of his stuff, the more I realized that his stuff never evolves. I can't listen to him anymore. He has played himself out in my eyes.
yeah, and i totally agree with you after vicious circles he kind of died for me but nonetheless that stuff was good so i have to give him some credit for that.

It's hard to beat a Lewis Black rant, it's both funny and poignant.

I like Jim Gaffigan too, he's not that poignant, but he's got Waffle House's number.
