Patton Oswalt;

He is tiny and hilarious... and his small stature only accentuates his hilarity.

I feel confident that the only reason anybody likes him, is because he's admittedly a huge nerd. I don't know that I've ever laughed at anything he's ever done, ever.

I've personally met the guy and he is hilarious. He is just a legitimately funny person.

Firstly, the fact that you met him in person only solidifies my opinion. Of course you're gonna think he's hilarious. You met the guy. You had a brush with extremely mild celebrity. Naturally you feel the need to plug them. I did the same thing when I met Larry the Cable guy, thankfully I snapped out of it in time to realize that he's a shameless, stereotype perpetuating fake. Secondly, you can't fool me. I know you've been dying to tell people on this thread that you met Patton Oswalt.
I could be wrong. You could genuinely have liked his stuff prior to meeting him, but because you did in fact meet him, your credibility on the issue is more or less quashed in my eyes.

I saw Arj Barker on tv the other day and he's pretty damned funny.

Dylan Moran, although I agree on Arj Barker. I saw him last year and he was very good. One of my favourite up-and-comings though is Andrew Lawrence. I saw his show while I was in Melbourne, and thought he did a fantastic job for a relatively young comedian.

Arj Barker I like but he's second tier for me - he doesn't make me laugh or think quite like my top three do.

I like Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran for Black Books, but I'm not that into their stand up.

I think Micheal Mcintyre is amazing, can make my stomach hurt from laughing, I can't wait for any new shows he does.

Russell Brand is also very funny but I think a lot of people don't like him because of the way he comes across in the news. In his show he talks about shame and embarrasment which shows that he isn't so far up his own arse as you might think.
