I liked Mirror's Edge, too. Mostly. Not sure it's unheard of (hey, Zero Punctuation covered it). I do think it could have stood a little polish, though. Combat was clunky, and forced far too often. Hit detection seemed more than a bit off-- maybe it's just me, but a lot of times wall runs and jumps seemed to fail for no apparent reason.
But when everything is clicking, you really do feel like you're gliding over rooftops like an Olympic gymnast who's taken up parkour. I guess that's why I got so frustrated with it, because I absolutely loved about 75% of the game, but screamed in frustration (and sore thumbs) from the rest. Mirror's Edge like the little girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead: when it was good, it was very very good, but when it was bad, it was horrid.
