Booting up the game, my first impression is the intro music disappearing 30 seconds in. After this, I realize the intro cutscene is absolutely crawling. After a lot of patience, I finally give up and skip. I then realize with horror that every cutscene is at a crawling pace. Checking youtube, this is not normal; the music's on throughout, and the speed is at least three times what I experienced.

Rest assured that my specs aren't a real problem here. I can't remember exactly what I have, just take my word for it. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I'm curious.

With all that said, what I did experience of the incredibly tedious intro was amazing. The retro graphics and writing make me giddy.

I've been encountering the exact same issue, no idea how to fix it. I'm running a Dell XPS 64-bit laptop, which may be causing some sort of compatibility problem.

Sucks but I believe it'll be patched, have you tried verifying files on Steam? (Or uplay if it does that I'm not sure.)
It's working fine here and the snes era cutscenes are hilarious, some people were having trouble booting it up on Steam(and asking for a fix yesterday or a refund of course.) but it's running just as well as Farcry 3 here.

I'm close to devouring my own brain in frustration.

I've tried changing resolutions, which did nothing.

I tried updating my video driver. Which I rarely do, because I don't want to rock the boat. With good reason, because the driver update screwed things up. I had to do a system restore.

After that, I tried reinstalling the game. Probably as a result of the driver/system restore deal, UPlay now refuses to launch.

As soon as I can get #%¤"#¤%#¤% UPlay to work again, I'll try fiddling with Post FX as suggested. I'm not touching my graphics drivers again.

I'm this close to just torrenting the damn game and see if the cracked version works better.

Not trying to be a smart arse but it sounds like your machine has greater problems than Blood Dragon being a PITA, if a simple driver update causes issues you obviously have wider problems.

Out of interest what are your specs and do you have any programs like internet accelerators or maintenance software? Or any fancy hardware like "gaming" LAN cards or a hardware firewall that might corrupt downloads?

New drivers are usually better, where they beta drivers or stable builds? Is it ATI? I remember their driver support being somewhat underwhelming(that was a few years ago though.) but Nvidia does a really good job.

I have got Blood Dragon to work and it was so at first so here's my tips;
Update any old graphics drivers, turn down the resolution, and so anyone who hasn't managed to get the CD key to work, it needs to be in caps lock and the hyphens need to be put in manually.

That's all I got, hope it helps one or more of you

When anyone says anything like this, the only thing I can rest assure of, is that I want to know your specs now.

Sounds like your issues are not with the game, probably only a symptom. Did you completely uninstall the driver then clean it with something like driver sweeper, then re-install?

I am having a similar problem, the cut-scenes run slowly, it is possibly an issue that may have to be addressed with a patch.

Works totally fine on my peasant console, and I didn't have to do a damn thing.

(I have a feeling I'm going to regret posting that...)

I can be even smugger, my PC runs on the tears of console owners and Blood Dragon works fine on Ultra settings, no problems at all.

Is smugger a word?

Same here. No problem with game's functionality, no problem launching, no problem with uplay integration. Everything on Ultra, smooth as silk. Also, I'm playing it on a *gasp* Alienware, whose OEM liquid cooling circulates the thermally efficient tears of haters over my OC'ed i7, lol.

Alright, facetiousness out of the way, worked fine for me, hope you get it sorted OP.

This is why I don't play PC games. Every time something is released it seems to just shit all over you guys...

Just wait for the inevitable patch:)

Or you could try an "alternate" version and see if that works. I don't think it's illegal because you already own the game, but be careful.

Tried changing resolution, post FX, and I updated my drivers, but still no dice on getting the cutscenes to move at anything but a crawl. That said, it does move at very smooth crawl, no stuttering, so this can't be a hard problem to fix.
