Today while playing sabotage (round 20 matchs) i was nuked 4 times and of course this means the win goes to the other team, its like in a game of soccer and its 0-0 at full time and 1 of the teams says they win cos they got more shots on target, its like wants the point of the mode when ya can win it another way, it makes sabotage feel like team DM.

Which brings me on to killstreaks, fair play to getting 11 and so on kills in a row but the killstreak just make it impossible for people to make a come back in a match when you respawn and your killed by a helicopter or what ever.

Now in COD4 i didnt find the killstreaks to bad, UAV, Attack Chopper, bombing run, the attack chopper was the only realy bastard. But MW2 goes over board with them, 5 kills Predator missile which can add 1-3 more kills, 7 kills attack helicopter which can easily add 5-10 more kills, and at 11 kills getting the chopper gunner or ac130 which ya can get 5-10 kills, so people are getting like 15+ kills a match.

It just makes the game feel less like a fps like compared to counter strike where its just you and your gun and feel like you earned coming first in a match, so what am really saying is that killstreaks ruin MW2 online, and i want to know if people feel the same?

to get a nuke is no simple feat, if the guy has got such a large killstreak without dying he might as well be the incarnate of the nuke and you will have your ass handed to you anyway.

Also helicopters should be shot down to solve that little problem

The killstreaks can be easilly countered by engaging your brain and engaging with your team mates around you, Team work and the like.

And if people have 30+ they definatley earned it, They got the killstreaks and got the rewards that blew your ass from here to China.

the killstreaks are the perfect example of Gen Pattons saying "Dont Die For Your Country, Make the Other Poor Bastered Die For His"

Look at it this way: you get a new zombie callsign :)
Find where the guy is hiding, under every kook and granny, and headshot his ass.
That always seems to work against me.

Look, if you suck so badly that you can't get 15 kills in one game, just stop complaining. You just moaning around is not going to make the killstreaks go away. If you don't like it, don't play it, simple as that. Also, if the helicopters are really bothering you, have a class with stingers or javelins and shoot it down. "But they deploy flares" you say? shoot it again until its dead. It is not that hard to find a solution.

And here I thought that the killstreaks were good.
And honestly, if you let some guy get 25 kills in a row, you deserve to get your ass nuked.
Also, you get a callsign.
Yay, I guess.

I agree.

Killstreaks ruin a lot of the fun for me.

I've dominated one or two games with air support and always feel like a cheap asshole afterwards as my chopper gunner destroys the emeny's spawn.

I'd love a game mode where the only killstreak is UAV.

I agree with the thread. When playing objective based games, there will be (at least) one guy who is only going for kills to get a nuke.

I was playing capture the flag on skyrise and my team were winning 4-0, and we lost because there was one guy who just camped and nuked us. Also, Chopper Gunner and AC-130 are way over powered (and it don't help that they can come out of supply crates).

I guess it's all in the title: MODERN Warfare.

These days, when global superpowers go to war it's very rarely blokes vs. blokes, they're usually always supported by artillery, the air force, the navy, etc. I guess this is what Infinity Ward was trying to capture.

Also, war isn't fair. You can't play a pseudo-simulation and expect it to play like the Army Men games.

The killstreaks are the reason why I haven't stopped playing by now. The reason the old game grew old for me was because no matter how you customized the gun it was all just a different way of shooting someone.

Now if you do really well at shooting people (something I could use some improving on) you can use a variety of pretty crazy things that keeps it interesting for me. The riot sheild was another one of my favorite things because of how it just changed things up.

The nuke was always criticized before release as a gamebreaker but I've only seen it used once. And half my time is spent in ground war and I'm level 64.

Out of the hundreds of matches I have played, I have only seen the nuke used twice(both times against my team and within the same hour actually). But every other killstreak is easily avoided or countered so there is a balance. You just have to stop complaining and find it.

Just because I've gotten 11 nukes does not mean the game is bad.

It just means I'm awesome.

Also, the only killstreak I really find annoying is the AC130, since it takes 3 stingers to shoot down...

And yet that is not possible because user run servers are no longer...yay IW!

dont suck at the game a basic, win/loss is 50/50 same with kill/death, you say shoot down a helicopter, and some times it takes two shoots to bring it down cos it deploys flare but that means you have to look up leaving yourself exposed!!

I've only ever seen the nuke once and I didn't even play that game, I joined right before the end. My point is that like most other people said if that dude actually got enough kills to nuke your ass then he deserves that satisfaction, besides every other killstreak (helicopters, etc.) are easily defeated by rockets. I'm usually the one who ends up shooting them down thanks to my stinger plus cold blooded combo that I use with every class.

Feck you and your bitching about the killstreak system. They're designed to be, on one part, rewards for kicking everyone's ass from here to Antioch, and motivation to do better to get that awesome aircraft at your disposal.

And as for the nuke? Killing 25 people in a row without dying is no easy task. While the killstreaks are powerful, are they free? No, sir. You have to fucking WORK for your Harrier, or AC130, or Nuke, etc.

No one is saying that you have to play MW2. If you still want a good modern shooter check out Battlefield Bad Company or the dozens of other titles.

Better yet just stop caring about winning or losing and play for fun

I personally think that the killstreaks work really well. If you're skilled enough to rack up that many kills in one life, then you deserve a break by letting a nuke do the work every once in a while.
