Tommorow I'm leaving on vacation with my family. Now to most people, it's no big deal. I on the other hand am an agoraphobic, and haven't left the house or worked in nearly a year. I tend to get really freaked out and paranoid if I'm out of my apartment for too long, it gets very scary for me. But for my family, and for myself I want to try to do this.

So I was going to humbly ask, if I could kind of rely on any of you guys for support. This community has some good people in it that even from just lurking I know have good hearts, so that's why I'm asking here. Just a humble request, not trying to make it a chore to anybody

You can post in here, or pm me or message me your kik or something, I don't care.

Thanks in advance guys.

Just wanted say I hope your trip goes well. I've suffered in the past because of agoraphobia, but if you put the effort into addressing it in healthy ways, it gets better. I'm still not entirely over it, but I go out more than I used to. I agree with what Corey is saying, make sure you have a book or something to occupy yourself a bit. I always pack a small sketch pad and a pen with me. Having something to do with my hands has been a useful tool for grounding myself and easing any anxiety I might have.

Thanks both of you, it's going well so far, just a car drive. Kind of anxious but toughing it out.

Hey, happy to help. A car ride sounds nice. How's the trip going today, everything still copacetic?

So far so good man. Still kind of uneasy and nervous, but not as bad as I thought.

Thanks again for checking in man, it means alot to me.

Still finding it alright?

I can't imagine how you feel exactly, but I can sympathise at the very least, and would like a happy ending nonetheless. Must be a massive moment.

I'm sure, though, that you'll be glad you took the step afterwards. :)

Hi. Just wanted to throw in my two cents after reading this. I've had somewhat similar experiences in recent years regarding family trips for different reasons, but the anxiety was ever-present. On the upside, there were also unexpected, but very worthwhile experiences during these trips that I was glad to have, from finding amazing places of peace and serenity, meeting interesting, different people, and just getting outside of your head for a good amount of time.

Hope you're doing well, all in all.

No worries. I'm glad to hear things went well. I know how it feels when being in public sometimes can feel overwhelming and other people don't see it the same way.

Just wanted to say, it's pretty incredible of you to have done this, and you should be really proud. I really hope it's a step toward conquering you anxiety for good.
