Hate to say it but both suck, and disturbed suck.

Their new album literally made me want to die though, so I have to say the old bassist. Disturbed was bad, but now they're just offensively bad.

You have blatantly ignored the rules I clearly laid out in the original post. You have been reported, and I ask all intelligent users who try to adhere to the rules of this forum to do so as well.

I'm one of those guys that likes Disurbed, has all major albums to date, but doesn't know much about the band itself.

My fav albums are 10,000 Fists and Asylum, so i GUESS that makes John Moyer better by default. That said, the bass players have the least effect on my opinion of a band. Vocals, Drums, and Lead Guitar are much more prominent while bass is more of a subtle background to the song. I'm not saying it doesn't matter, it's just less noticable to me.

You can just call me God, thank you.

I've listened to everything Disturbed has made. Not because I like them, but because I listen to a lot of music.

In my opinion, I think I should have more of a say in the argument. I come from a purely objective stand-point, so I don't have any biases toward the band.

And there was no need to report me, since I broke no rules, and stayed on topic.

Also, since when does your post constitute as "rules of the forum"? I'm pretty sure the mods will see that I really didn't do anything wrong.

Excluding people from the conversation just because they have a different opinion does not a good conversation make.

For one thing, you are, in fact, entitled to your opinion. However, this thread was created for a discussion among ONLY Disturbed fans, as pointed out in the title and OP.

For another thing, there was a need to report you, you posted content on a thread that could potentially have started a heated argument. This is called "Flaming" and most users and all moderators hate flaming.

Also, no, you're quite right. My post does not count as "rules of the forum." But the rules of the forum do, which clearly state that all users should READ THE ORIGINAL POST OF ALL THREADS BEFORE POSTING ON THAT THREAD, AND THAT NO USER SHOULD EVER POST ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT ADHERE TO THE PARAMETERS OF CONVERSATION LAID OUT IN SAID ORIGINAL POST. Therefore, sir, your post was, indeed, an infraction on the rules of the Escapist's forums.

Lastly, I, too, disagree with excluding someone simply because their opinion is different. Your opinion, however, has absolutely no pertinence to this conversation, because you don't like the band or their music. That's fine. Not everyone does (gee, I feel like I remember saying something like that before). It was clearly stated, and reasonably so, that if you're not a fan, YOUR OPINION DOES NOT PARTAIN TO THIS CONVERSATION, AND SO, IS NOT WELCOME. This is America. You are entitled to your opinion. But every opinion has a fitting time and place, and you have failed spectacularly in recognizing that incredibly easy and obvious fact.

Do you enjoy being proven wrong? Because you have made doing so ridiculously easy on me.

I don't really notice the bass that much but I do like the earlier albums much more than the recent ones...So Fozz, i guess? The first two albums just seemed so much more authentic in their angst. IMO the music started going downhill on 10,000 fists. Stopped listening to them after that.

Moyer for sure, I play bass and I have much more fun playing their new songs as opposed to their old songs so yeah. Also I've seen disturbed live twice and both times he had quite an awesome stage presence.

God damn you are a cocky fuck, aren't you.

And you know what? You were almost right. Almost.

First off, let's go on to what constitutes a "fan".

Here's what Dictionary.com has to say:
Fan: an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of a sport, pastime, celebrity, etc

I can't say I am devoted to or admire Disturbed at all, but I definitely follow them. As I mentioned, I have listened to everything they have ever made.

Secondly, my post.
Now, you have me on one point. I did say Disturbed suck, but it was in no way meant to incite a flame war or whatever.
In fact, I did it to contribute to the conversation. If I had said "Disturbed sucks end of story", maybe you would have some ground. but I didn't. And you really don't.

As one of a small group of escapee's devoted to music, I feel it necessary to post on any music related topics I come across. If I offended you in any way, I am sorry, truly.

You seem smart (not as smart as you think you are, however), so I'm sure you'll eventually move onto better music. On this topic, however, I shall say no more.

I bid you adieu.

Moyer just fits in so much better in the band and the direction they've been heading in since 10 000 fists. Can you imagine Fuzz playing My Child or Asylum?

I've only listened to their Asylum album and none of their other stuff. So if I did vote it would have to be for Moyer because I havn't heard any of Fuzz's stuff.

That said, the songs that are in Asylum are really damn good.

I've only started listening to them this year. So I'll need to get hold of their other Albums.

For those of you who like Disturbed's music, but don't necessarily follow the band's history, Fuzz (whose real name I don't actually know)
Can't say I like any era of Disturbed at all, but just posting here to tell you that the real name of Fuzz is Steven Kmak. Thought you might be interested to know that.

Carry on discussing, everyone.

I CAN'T DECIDE!

Sorry, but I can't. Fuzz was on Sickness (probably one of the best albums of all time) and Believe. While Believe is probably my "least favorite" Disturbed album (still ahead of a lot of other albums that I like) some of my favorite songs are on it. Like Prayer, Liberate, Intoxication, and especially Remember. However, you can tell a marked change in the music from 10,000 Fists on. In some ways you could argue that it is better. I wouldn't even disagree. I love songs like Just Stop, Decadence, Criminal, Facade, and The Animal. Both Bassists are awesome. Disturbed is awesome. This thread is awesome.

Sorry, but I can't vote. Add a third option, please.
Until then, my answer to the question of which Disturbed bassists is the better one is: Yes.
