Ok...I don't want to start a war..or get shouted at...but I really think that feminism has gone a bit to far. I mean that I think that the feminists have done what they set out to do and now they are just trying to make them selves better then men.

Tell me what you think of feminism...and please don't flame me. Please?

Yes they stepped over the line when they wanted to vote....!!!
(Dont know why Im saying "they" when I myself am one of "them"?)

But seriously even being female I think some women need to get off their high bloody horse and chill out about what they sometimes call 'equality'.

When feminists go "too far", they aren't focusing on feminism anymore, instead focusing on misandry.

Basically the same as the OP. I'll admit that there's still a degree of residual, unthinking sexism, but the only real way to remove it would either be to reverse the bias, which is hypocritical and (speaking as someone in possession of a Y chromosome) sucks; or to insist on a level of political correctness which is, quite frankly, insane.

And feminazis: you are not helping the cause.

ok then...I know of one story where a bunch of woman wanted to do a nude calender shot, but the local feminist group stop them from doing it because they said that it was sexist and degrading. And also that in the 1960's thay called playboy empowering and now they call in sexist.

Thank you, this sums up my feeling quite well (though if I said it out loud I would probably get maced by someone, a medival mace)

But yes they should really calm down. One memorable moment is when I held a door open for one woman and she repayed that not with a 'thanks' or anything, but lecture on how women can do things on their own and im a chauvinist pig for trying to hold her back.

My reaction: 0_0 wat?

Whether or not it's gone to far depends on the feminist in question. The "Both sexes should be treated equally" kind of feminists are fine; the "Women are the superior race! Everything with a penis must be castrated and crucified! We don't need a filthy, inferior man to continue the human race; we'll just grow babies on farms!" kind are kinda fucking insane.

come to Australia, where men are second class citizens. I hear New Zealand has it worse though. And English women are all Hitler from what I can tell, though that's not a legal equality thing, that's just a land of screwed up personalities. I get the feeling that a lot of husband-beating goes on over there.

How precisely did they stop them from doing it?

Also, feminists in the 1960s aren't the same feminists that exist now.

See, the whole 'is it sexist or isn't it' in terms of playboy and other forms of porn (whether soft or hardcore) is the line between being unashamed of your sexuality, and being exploited because of your sexuality. Is doing a nude photoshoot just selling yourself out for male titilation, or is it a bold statement of a lack of shame over the body? At the time, softcore porn mags were a new thing, so it was ambiguous just which of the two it was. Now it's fairly obvious. You're not making any sort of bold statement if you're in playboy - accordingly, opinion has shifted. See?

I think equality should mean being equal, not I need more privileges and need to be treated better because I'm X gender and X race. Being equal means you are treated the same as others, not better. I've encountered cases where a grown woman has demanded to be given a higher grade, more privileges, a better job, or some other higher privlige because they have two X chromosones. So...since I was unfortunate enough to have an X AND (god forbid) a Y, am I responsible for everything man has done to women in the past? Do I have to pay for the wrongs of others?
Apparently.
Maybe girls should start holding doors open...
In summary: Equal means equal. I think in the more modern countries, women are equals now, but the annoying thing is that they keep pushing for more rights. They've become equal. What more do they want?

I think the thing here is that since the sixties or seventies, feminism has referred to many different groups of women, with completely different agendas. There's no real common goal anymore, it's like saying gamers have gone too far because of the 12 year olds on X-box live. Women who say Firefly was sexist (can't find the article, but it was linked a while back) make me face palm, but there's many others who do fight for very relevant causes.

It's a shame they get overshadowed by the loonies.

That's not really being feminist, its being stupid and hypocritical.

This happened to me, and I didn't hold the door for her later. And got yelled at for not holding the door, and a lecture on chivalry being dead.
I can't win!

When they try to destroy the porn industry in general, stuff like loli and rape fantasies become illegal to make and distribute. basically censorship they already got to japans famous labyrinth of dangerous pornographic scenarios.
