Just thought i'd start a thread about the upcoming UK festivals in the summer but im sure this could also be used for US (and any other locations).

So anyone heading to some festivals this year? I'm going Sonisphere so it's a great way to celebrate the end of my A2's and is in the peak of british summer (which isn't all that predictable) but hopefully it'll be spot on.
May the good times roll my friends.

Not summer related but I'm always up for Oktoberfest. One of the nearby towns has a smaller version called Wurstfest that's pretty awesome also. Mainly, I just look for any excuse to eat lots of sausage and get smashed off german beer.

Well you can find the list on the website, but System of a down are returning! and I believe that's their first gig. Also Avenged sevenfold, Bullet for my valentine, Alice Cooper! Def Leppard, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Korn, Twisted Sister and Disturbed - Too name a few (Or the ones I care about, which is most of them)

I'm going Isle of Wight festival, and Leeds festival.

I would kill someone to go to Download or Sonisphere, though.

I'm off to Sonisphere and High Voltage. I was also at Hammerfest!

I'm busy over Download though, and aside from a few acts (The Offspring, Rise Against, Seasick Steve) Reading & Leeds looks like a wankfest.

But Sonisphere means BIG FUCKING 4!!!

I'm going to download festival :) lineup looks good this year. Would quite like to get tickets for sonisphere as well, but I'm sadly not that enthused by the big 4 to be honest. I'd quite like to see InMe, Mastodon, InFlames, Slipknot and Opeth though. Financially speaking, it's probably not happening but w/ever. Hope springs eternal.

I'm not from the UK nor do I go to festivals very often but I do enjoy going to the Obon Odori summer festivals here in the U.S. These festivals are traditional Japanese type festivals (kimonos, taiko drums, etc.)

I hate you.
Although I can't complain...

Basically, my mates chipped in to get me a Reading ticket this year, which was amazing of them...but the lineup is like...yeeeaaah.

...espesh compared to Sonisphere and Download:/.

TAKE ME WITH YOU GODDAMN IT:mad:.

Hell yeah, quite a few Escapists going Soni. I've seemingly been doing some festival tour the last couple of years (2009 was Download, 2010 Reading, and now 2011 Sonisphere).
Download so far has been the best based upon Atmosphere (reading is way too hectic and full of dicks) the weather was so much better although i think the line up was more killer at Reading last year.
I've got high hopes for Sonisphere a few friends who im going with this year, who went for a day last year, say the atmosphere is much better than Reading but metal based events do seem a lot more friendly in my opinion.

Not really anything I can think of, My friend wants to take me to this one super concert festival thing that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head. But the sad thing is even if I want to go I might not be able to because I get to go to "Basic Training" this summer which could be a festival for me, well a festival in pain :p.

I wouldn't complain if i was getting a free ticket :p even if the line-up is wank in your opinion (which it is in reality, especially compared to last year, lock up tent was boss) you can still waste away the weekend knowing you didn't pay a penny haha. GET CRUNK MOFO.

I'd happily smuggle someone in a bag but i rarely can pack enough of my own stuff in it as it is but I'm definetly buying a proper camping bag this year.
I apologise for the double postings.,

I'm going at least to a one festival that I've been going to since I was 13. I'll at least go see System Of A Down and Pendulum. Volbeat, The Sounds, Avenged Svenfold and Wolfmother as the other bigger names already confirmed.

And it's more about getting shitfaced on the campsite and having fun anyways.

As usual, I'll be eschewing UK fests in favour of a trip to Poland for my fourth consecutive Przystanek Woodstock. Can't wait.
