Few months later I still dislike the *new* escapist layout

I wish there was a way to revert the format and color scheme back to the classic look. The current look is still too bright on my eyes. There's also too much floating free space. It really bothers me in a way my other frequented websites do not. Have you guys gotten attached or do you still want the classic look?

I'll be honest, I already forgot how the old format looked, the new want sorta just replaced any memories of the old one.

If you use Chrome (or maybe Firefox, not sure if it works for that too) you can use the add-on "Stylish" to bring back the old blue sides to the side which helps defeat the white, though the rest is unchanged. With that, I quite like the new design. If you're interested I can PM you the input code you need for that.

It was bad, but the option they gave to darken the sides slightly is all it really needed, the only thing that really bothered me was the blinding whiteness that burned my retinas.

I've gotten used to it, but I don't love it. I miss being able to just use the sidebar to watch the latest episode of any show I want. The drop down video tab does an ok job, but yeah...

Most sites I visit have recently gotten layout changes, but the cheezburger sites are the only ones I still really dislike.

Anyway, I don't mind it. The white took a bit of adjusting to and there were a few bugs but they have since been ironed out.

I much prefer the new content sidebar. The old one ended up being far too big by the time this layout was released.

It's not as good, but I'm forgetting what the old one looked like. Load times are longer & the page isn't as smooth (it's heavier on javascript I think, which might be causing some problems for my firefox build).

Like Zombie_Fish said, you have the sidescroller, if you hover your mouse cursor over it your scroll wheel flicks through the choices.

Honestly, I've become used to the new layout, and found some new things about it that I really like (it's easier accessing my usergroups, for one thing).

But I still feel a sharp pang of regret every time I look at my old reviews. They don't look nearly as good in the new format as <url=http://i44.tinypic.com/315l4wi.jpg>they used to, and I'm still kind of peeved about the change to the header html codes; used to be a bolded, red style, now it's much less distinctive (and using the and <color=red> tags doesn't make it the same).

I...have been avoiding Wednesdays because of that very thing, so I did not know this. Your point is taken.

They let me decide between white and something a bit less white. Still screams brightness at me.
