So I finally caved and splurged an entire paycheck into a WiiU, and a new TV to go with it.

The WiiU came with New super Mario Bros U as well as the Luigi game. I also bought Mario kart 8 and got Windwaker from the free game promo.

I will be getting Smash Bros. 4 and Hyrule Warriors when they release as well.

Now what else should I get for it?

Super Mario 3D World is the game you should pick up right away. If you like to have friends over for games and you have plenty of wiimotes, Nintendoland is one of the best party games ever.

I guess Wonderful 101 (and eventually Bayonetta 2) as the Platinum games on the only reason why I want a WiiU.
Do this. Do this hard and right now.

The Wonderful 101 is fantastimazing. I love it anyway.

Pikmin 3 and ZombiU were fun.

I am someone who does not really like "scary" games but ZombiU was fun, was sitting at the edge of my seat a lot :p

Then if you haven't played the Darsiders series, get Darksiders2!
I am waiting for my redeem code for Wonderful 101, but it seems like a blast!
Rayman Origins was fun, as was Mario 3D world.
If you like the Batman and Assassins creed games then the latest versions for those can be found cheaply in both stores and the Eshop!
Aaah fuck it!

Also!

Decided to quote you, read what's after this quotation!!!
If you're going to use the Eshop even a little (which you should, the games are cheap and good sales!) get an external harddrive that you save the games on, the games Like DeusEx and Splinter Cell, both good game you should get!, are 16GB in size and one of those will fill the WiiU!

When/If you get the external drive, make sure it's not powered by only USB but that it has its own powersource cable, otherwise when you have 3 or more games on the harddrive it take sos much power from the WiiU that it will automatically turn itself of due to not receiving enough power itself.

So I'll list the games I have played and enjoyed :p

Either CD(physical) or Eshop (compare prices!!!) :

Darksiders 2
ZombiU
Pikmin3
MK
Mario 3D world
Rayman Origins
Batman Arkham City/Origins
DeusEx Human Revolution
Splinter Cell BlackList
Assassins Creed III/IV

Only Eshop:

Trine 2
Pokemon Rumble U (with friends)
DuckTales
TankTankTank

Any old Gameboy/SNES/NES game that seems interesting (Old Zelda/Metroid games, Breath of Fire II and GoldenSun)

And as a final thing I want to tell you!
We have a "WiiU Online Multiplayer" usergroup on this site, feel free to join in and get a good amount of friends on your friends list to occasionally play together some MarioKart and other Online games when we get a few more :)

Country
Ireland
Super Mario 3D World - If you like Mario games(which I assume you do as you bought the Mario bundle)then this is a must buy
Donkey Kong Country:Tropical Freeze - A bit more challenging than the NSMB games.Highly recommended if you like 2D platformers
Rayman Legends - One of the best 2D platformers out at the moment
Pikmin 3 - Something different from all the platformers. Not necessary to have played the others in the series either
The Wonderful 101 - It's like Pikmin but on acid
Zombi U - Quite tense and challenging.Just don't go into it expecting a fast paced shooter like Left4Dead(which some people failed to grasp)

Eshop titles

Trine 2:Directors Cut - A puzzle platformer that is also one of the best looking games in recent years imo despite being a reasonably cheap downloadable game
Swords & Soldiers HD - Not sure what you'd call this really.Side scrolling 2D strategy??Worth checking out though as it's fun,has a pretty funny story and is only ?3
Toki Tori 1 & 2 - Don't be fooled by the cute looks. These are pretty challenging puzzle platformers.First one is dirt cheap too ?2 I think
Nano Assault Neo - Pretty fun twin stick shooter.Bit short so perhaps not worth full price but it seems to be on sale pretty regularly
Runner 2 - A 2D platformer where your guy is constantly running to the right and you have to dodge the obstacles.Quite challenging in the later levels
Dungeons & Dragons:Chronicles of Mystara - A re-release of 2 classic side scrolling beat em ups.Great fun in co-op

Shovel Knight is also getting great reviews but is currently only available in North America

I second Guffe about joining the Wii U usergroup too

I assume you mean Rayman Legends.Although Origins was a great game too and the Wii U is backwards compatible

Okay, so you already have New Super Mario Bros U, New Super Luigi Bros U, Mario Kart 8 and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. For currently out games then I will recommend you Wonderful 101, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Zombi U, and Tank! Tank! Tank! Though I have not played it, I've heard good things about Pikmin 3 so I shall also recommend that. There are also a lot of great games on the eShop such as Trine 2: Directors Cut, Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails, UnEpic, TNT Racers: Micro Machine Edition, Colour Zen, Child of Light, and a fairly decent virtual console library of NES and SNES games.

As for future purchases, I'd say Bayonetta 2 is a good choice, particularly if you have not already played the 1st game as it has been announced that Bayonetta 1 will be included with Bayonetta 2 for Wii U. Aside from that, you've already got Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Hyrule Warriors on the list so that should do for recommendations. Are there any game genre's in particular you like?

Get Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate. I got a Wii U for that game alone and currently have 600+ hours. That game is the most fun I have ever had in a game with online functionality. Just keep in mind that the village quests are actually a tutorial/pracyice for the Solo/Multi Port part of the game. Convince some friends to play with you as well. Monster Hunter can get dull when played solo
