Either:

- John Marston from Red Dead Redemption: He does pretty much everything when asked, and can kill a group of people within seconds.

- Gordon Freeman from HL2: He doesn't ***** around, follows silently, and knows how to handle himself in just about every situation.

Never:

- Kratos from God of War: Even if he wouldn't want to kill you anyways, you'd probably be collateral damage due to the range of his chaos blades.

- Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4: May be capable and determined, but you would be dead before he finished turning around. Also, he looks a bit to boyish to intimidate potential attackers.

Been playing alot of Blazblue lately so I'm going to have say Noel can probably kick anyone's ass if they come near me. Her and Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood would do just fine I think.

Chewbacca! Except I'd have to earn his loyalty or something. Durzo Blint from the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks would probably be my other choice.
I don't know that I'd like an assassin guarding me... Chewbacca would be useful though.

I'd probably go for Auron.

I can't remember the name of the protagonist of Vice City Stories. Vance. Something Vance.

Him.
The white guy?
Tommy Vercetti.
The black guy?
Lance Vance, the guy who invented the 'Lance Vance Dance'

I go with Agent 47.
International killer, menacing as hell, and can't be traced through any form of typical evidence (fingerprints, hair (he has none anyway), blood).

I'm endlessly amazed that nobody has mentioned Lara Croft yet... :)

OT: I'd go with Michael Westen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Westen

Well, my own Persona, a la the persona series would do very nicely.

Hell, the Chrono Trigger cast would be amazing as well. Then we could adventure.

While we're at it, the Doctor from the Doctor Who series is basically the universe's most interesting man and ultimate badass. Following that guy around would be the greatest ever.

HK-47 from KOTOR. He can kick ass, offer existnetial comments as to the meaninglessness of life, AND make morbid witicisms. We'd have so much in common!

. . . . . . . . . . . . (except for the kicking ass bit)

I would probably choose Jason Voorhees.
Because he can't die no matter how much damage he sustains and he is relentless and unstoppable. Truly a killing machine.
No one wants to mess with the guy who commands the living embodiment of fear and hatred.

The Darkness. You're super best friend down a dark alley. It's the perfect example of Anti-Rape.
I really can't believe I didn't think of this first. It's the perfect bodyguard.

Vash the Stampede. Because when it comes down to protecting people he cares about, there is no one more awesome.

Random Bodyguard from Dynasty Warriors 2, because he would be incapable of stealing my kills, but would still be useful to distract my enemies.

If I wanted to survive an assassination attempt or something, probably HK-47. Just because he's awesome.

Bodyguard eh?

I'm gonna go with Iron Man, because Iron Man is cool.

(I wonder how long it'll be before someone brings up FFVII?)

Probably the cast of Slayers. I'd probably end up dead crossing the street, but it would be a very amusing and strange death.
