Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - behind her mostly silence is a very intelligent and considerate person, also she is willing to put herself before others no matter what danger lies ahead

Tomoyo Sakagami from Clannad - underneath her strong exterior is a sensitive girl who can be devoted and passionate

got to also include Ikaros from Heaven's Lost Property because she is genuinely devoted, kind, and would do anything to protect her master

First off I see this going very bad places soon.....

However in the spirit of participation I'd go with Ashley from Mass Effect, hate her all you want, but I think we'd have fun at the range.

A few people from Fallout3 come to mind. Lucy West and Moira Brown of Megaton, Clover of Paradise Falls, Sierra Petrovita of Girdershade. They seem like my kind of people, but if I had to choose one I'd go with Lucy. She looks so lonely, but such a sweetheart. And I did rescue her brother so I'm already in there.

Kylar Stern from the night angel trilogy, that guy has the coolest personality :)
DA:O's Leliana, great personality, though the whole religious thing would grate a little bit.
DA:O's Morrigan, because I love sarcastic people with a twisted view of the world.
And Bella from Twilight..... just kidding :p

There isn't a single fictional character I'd want to meet, for any reason. The concept is rather silly to me, now that you mention it.

Flemmeth, never a boring day when you're going out with a half mad witch who can turn herself into a massive dragon.

She's just such a sweetheart! She's smart, loves her work, is very open and honest, and just very down to earth and sweet.

Anyone who would take me. Because there's a number of people I can think of - for one of them, just look left - but none of them would actually date me for a (local currency equivalent of US$1,000,000).

Artemis Fowl of the book series of the same name.

He starts out as a grade A jackass who does some pretty low things in his past... And I'd probably have to learn to get used to the prickly side of him... His ego, a very strong tendency to snark(but then again EVERYONE in that series does at one point or another), unwilling to get his hands dirty or exert himself, very poor social skills, and a strong tendency to keep secrets, to lie, and to manipulate those around him to meet ends(both reasonable and not). But he is a good person deep down and it becomes evident pretty early on in the series that he isn't that awful a person. The negative parts of his personality also 'improve' as he developed so I can imagine getting to like the guy after the initial pains. He is also very dedicated and caring to those he cares about in his own way. I imagine him being a very devoted(if not standoffish) boyfriend.

Garrus from mass effect. Just Garrus from mass effect. I played the female romance with him and damn...

Otherwise Garret from Thief. (Lol maybe it's just in the names?) I don't know... Something about his cold general dislike for humans but also his dry sense of smug humor... I don't know he looks like a horse's ass but I'd still date him. Though I bet I'd end up scared half to death every time he turns up in my apartment in the middle of the night without me noticing at all. xD

Does "Is a spaceship" count as a physical reason? If not, I choose Karan S'jet, but it probably does, so...

Black Hat Guy's female counterpart, from xkcd. Because I like making bad decisions.

Shinobu Maehara from love hina. Not only hot when she's gets a bit older, and smart enough to get into tokyo U (i honestly have no idea if that's a real college/university), but the real reason for me, she's an iron chef level cook! Truly the way to my heart is through my stomach.

A Hermit's Cave
Krantos said:
And that is insufficient to judge her character?

Granted, she doesn't appear in many scenes, but there is enough allusion to, illustration of and reference to her personality within the remainder of the book for me to consider her attractive, albeit tragically so.

Actually, the first thing that came to mind was My Neighbour Totoro. Totoro only appears in four scenes as well (meeting Mei, the bus-stop, the harvest dream & helping Satsuki) and yet this alone gives the viewer an overwhelmingly endearing picture of him. Sure, this isn't the same, but I feel that the writing of lCdMC was such that she didn't need much 'screen-time' to be well characterised.
