People that use fictional profanities should be shot, no exceptions.

Hey look, it's the no-fun fairy.

If I leave a crushed dream under my pillow will you give me a dollar?
You can have fun without being incredibly lame. The people that use them IRL are just attention whores trying to show off how "cooky" and "zaney" they are.
Or they could just spend so much time immersed in their favourite fictional universe that the language rubs off on them and they start doing it frakkin' spontaneously. That's how it works with IRL swearing usually, you pick up words from hearing them in everyday usage. So if you spend a couple of hours a day watching/playing red dwarf/farscape/mass effect or whatever, it's not that surprising that some fictional lingo creeps into your everyday conversation. It's also worth noting that lots of words started out as "fictional", i.e. first used in a work of fiction.

I'll sometimes say, "what the fetch?"

I also have my own "language" that I scream in when things get to difficult online.

I have recently started tosay Chantry instead of church sometimes. think I need to lay of the dragonage for a while.
Don't worry, I started calling God "The Maker" for a good while afterwards. Sure, people have used that turn on him before, but mine was strictly because of DragonAge.
I started referring to God as Ormagoden..... Cookie for the reference.

My sister does this. She says.....I forget. "Blag" or something. I don't think it's actually from anything, she just made it up. I don't understand it.

If I'm gonna swear, I'm gonna swear in a language people understand.

Well, some of my Christian friends tend to get a little mad at me when I say "Goddamn" so to subvert the problem I just replace the "god" with a Deity from Dungeons and Dragons. I find Kord works best for this, as "Tiamatdamn" doesn't just roll off the tounge.

Well, I just say sounds. But I say them angrily. I use some sounds a lot, such as (phonetically speaking) "sei-toh-kha". It doesn't mean anything yet.

Also, as an insult, I call people "Terrence". I just don't like that name.

For me it's variations on the word frak from Battlestar Galactica.
Same here. My mate and I both use it when talking to each other. I love BSG so much I'm getting Kara/Anders' wing tattoo on my leg
