Once had a dream where I was being strangled, I struggled hard and fought fiercely, eventually resorting to punching my assailant repeatedly in the face. I then woke up to discover that it hadn't actually been a dream and my then girlfriend had actually been trying to strangle me in her sleep. There was a lot of upset and weird explanations for a few weeks.

Thankfully, the dreams where I fight another person is usually a result of not being able to take a swing at them in real life. I work with these jerks at my job...you know the type, the smug, cocky jerk who doesn't outright attack you but instead gives these snide, backhanded comments that generally make you feel like shit. These are the people who need a good ass-kicking...dreaming is a poor substitute.

Killing, I'm happy to say, doesn't really happen in my dreams. Either the person fades away into some shadowy puddle, or the entire dream just implodes into some other scenario, or I wake up.

i've died once, but i don't recall ever killing anyone. any time i've tried to fight back i just end up irritating my adversaries and making things worse for myself. most of the time i'm running or hiding. on the occasion that the dream's lucid, i'll employ unorthodox methods of neutralization that aren't technically killing; namely pacification or a sort of phasing out of their existence. i basically will them to shrink into nothing, or will the whole universe into a more pleasant venue, for instance, a field of flowers.

My violent dreams tend to be amusing in retrospect, I'm always either trying and failing to start/join a fight or getting flattened in minutes. In the former category, I run about attacking people who don't seem to notice me until they're pretty much dead already, it goes like a GTA rampage mission, but I can't get a Wanted Level to provide more bodies, so I always end up failing.

For the ones where things do fight back, it's usually monsters or something, like a skeleton (resembling the one that trudges about in the Brotherhood Sanctuary in Oblivion, dark armor chestplate and big fucking sword) that sent me flying with a casual backhand after I punched it in the face.

I think these dreams emulate games fairly well, especially when I pause them and reload to an earlier point when I seem to be dying. Just once, I'd like to see my score when I wake up.

Fun fact, you cannot realistically punch in a dream, it's a defense mechanism to prevent your body from hurting itself. It's why when you try it feels like there is no force behind anything. You CAN grab and throw or do other things.
That's incorrect. I had a dream where I was fighting ninjas in slow motion (because you have to fight ninjas in slow motion) and my gf at the time grabbed my shoulder (well in the dream a ninja grabbed my shoulder) and I punched her right between the eyes. The contact woke me up and there I was, horrified (I don't hit girls as a rule, especially ones I like), while my gf was laughing and crying at the same time. According to her it was pretty evident that I was in a deep sleep, my face was completely calm, I was just punching randomly.

I almost never dream, but I did the night my father died. He came back, stitched together like Frankenstein's monster(presumably from the autopsy) and demanded his life insurance money so he could go start a new life with it. He was following me around, and I kept telling him I wanted to keep it so I could go to school, and when he finally tried to take the envelope full of cash that appeared in my hand, I pushed him into a barbwire fence and cut him into pieces with a chainsaw.

When ever I'm attempting to kill someone in my dreams - 99% of the time in self-defence - I usually fail. It's super annoying as I'm almost always aware that I'm dreaming; so as someone is stabbing/shooting/strangling/etc me, my concious part is going "COME ON!! D=<", and then I wake myself up.

I even got eaten by a zombie Captain Katherine Janeway once while trying to save my cat that had stupidly left the safe house. Damn cat =/

EDIT: Then there's the time when I was 4-5 years old and my grandmother's 1 metre tall statue of Jesus came after me in my dream, smiling and with his exposed heart bleeding, trying to suck the life force out of me or something. No wonder I'm agnostic >_>
