I liked xrd story, and it's nice having actual full cutscenes. and who really cares about gameplay against computer to engage players.

if you want easy entry into 2d games, you can just play xrd, bbcf, arcana and use noob mode, and you dont need to be able to do hadoken motions. Not that any regular player does.

It was awesome seeing arcana at CEO. I wish they swapped something like MVC, SG, kof for nitroplus, aquapazza, but thats just me as a big examu fan.

So hows that new dragonball game? It looks pretty interesting
you can try the closed beta sign up. I havent tried it but it should be good from what i've seen. it should be easy to play since theres only 236, 22 otions, and autocombos. and i believe it has a ggx style dust attack, and arcana heart style homing feature.

Xrd's story mode is pathetic and does not engage the player at all.
I must admit it did not engage me much either but still better than most. Revelators story was one I thoroughly enjoyed however they always seem to spend a game or two setting stuff up with the story which while it pays off later can lead to it being a bit boring at first.

[quote/]KI is apparently a shockingly good port and issues I heard about friend ran into none of. What is curious though is if Killgore has unlock conditions like I think in had in the original Xbone release or purchase only.[/quote]

It certainly seems to be a very good port although I have heard reports it is a bit lacking in pad support luckily I have my PC pad so its no prob but will have to see if it will support PS4 straight up or not. As for Killgore I have not tried him yet but I am 95% sure he is in the game. We dont have to put up with the bs players did for Shadow Jago and him or the price of the seasons. I dont think anything has to be bought from the store other than the soundtrack

Just got Gundam Vs up and running so hopefully get a few matches in that soon also we are seeing more of Cross Battle Vs now and while its pretty early it does look like it could be an amazing mash up game I just hope the roster is suitably large and diverse.

Also looks like SFV is coming out of early access and launching in January although personally I wont care because I will be preoccupied with Dissidia and DBF will be close on the horizon.

how is gundam versus. theres a chance i might get it because it's popular. for arena fighters I thought touhou kurenai looks best and we'll never get an international release. and I doubt I'll find many players even if we do

The weirdest thing of all is the recent western releases for 2hu.
Seriously, I thought it was a super Japan only thing but the so-called niche western love must have been too powerful to ignore when you have a western release and a physical western release. Sure its only like one or two games or something but its impressive.

Jap date for Fighter Z is February first so I am curious how accurate this reflects the EU/US date and the PC release date.

Apparently we will be getting its first on the 26th January for all platforms. There is also a season pass with 8 frikkin characters locked behind it which tbh has really pissed me off that they are taking a leaf out of Netherealms and Capcoms atrocious DLC practice book definitely killed some of my hype and goodwill toward the game.

Story mode looks like it may be interesting and apparently the characters in the game are aware that they are being controlled by you as you play so that could be a throwaway gimmick or hopefully something more.

You get early access to the game if you pre order the digital copy. How soon before I do not know and I wont be pre ordering any copy let alone digital. Gonna see if I can get a good price for the game now (so may have to wait a while) especially if the pass has some characters im interested in.

You know I was going to give them a pass on the pre order DLC just because it says "unlock early" which seemed reasonable to me but 8 characters locked? That does seem really lame. You can make the argument that some might be incomplete by then and I'd give you a pass. That said at least some are done or will be by the time the game releases and that is awful and anti-consumer. I may still likely get it because I want to venture out and play a game based on something I do not like and a game with that image and by a developer I like seems ideal. Honestly you can blame the publisher or developer because BandaiNamco and Arc System Works have done bad DLC practices before.

Thanks for the heads up.

Nah, the chars are not unlockable, also they're not gonna be available on release. We always get dlc chars some time after release in all arcsys games, the only thing different here is the number and that they use a season pass. Usually it's like 2-3 chars max.

My analysis of the situation is that they didn't expect this game to be so well-received so they increased their budget to capitalize on it which ended up becoming dlc.

Tons of different fighting games for Steam on sale right now. ASW, Skullgirls, SNK, and tons of others. See for yourselves.

With all these crossover characters announced for recent fighting games I wonder if DBF will go the same route. I wouldn't be opposed to Saitama DLC.
