......What?

Lord, I cant stand all of you new members. I can never understand any of you.
I meant, the "can't stand all of you new members" part.
Yeah, I just decided I can't stand you. For posting this elitist, arrogant and patronizing post to a new member.
If you don't understand, don't fucking post just to say you don't understand! Switch thread.

As for you being here for a longer because you have twice my post, it is not hard to understand why if all you do is post useless 1 liners and tell other members you can't stand them.
What did you contribute to this discussion exactly? Why was your post so necessary.
If you have nothing to say, you'd be wise to not say anything.
That is why I have been here 2 years and a half and have so little post.

Because I don't sign up in here to go tell people I can't stand them.
From here, I'm just guessing all that your post count means is that you pissed 1692 people since you joined. Congratulations!
The hypocrisy is oh so thick.

Your comment applies to you as well.
You think this has anything to do with the discussion? NO.
What did YOU contribute to the post exactly? Why was YOUR post so necessary?

And really, your telling ME that I piss people off?
And you don't? Was that not the point of your post to me?

And is it really SOOOOO much to ask for the newbies flooding in to actually GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEIR POSTS?

True, eventually these newbies will blossom into respected members of the escapist, but as of right now, they are all a pain in my backside.

On the topic of the OP, I understand what you're getting at. There comes a point where a final boss crosses a line from "reasonable challenge" to "snapping the controller". I haven't really played much SF4 because it's not really my thing, but I've heard that the final boss is bullshit, and intentionally so. I don't really like it, and would rather it didn't become a trend in the fighting games that I enjoy, but it's established in Street Fighter, so what can you do?

- J
I sold my SF4 when I "gently" put down the controller for the last time playing it. But Tekken is infected by it to, dont like it at all, not at the same level of bullshit as in SF4 but somewhat close.

Newsflash: You can understand what I'm saying.
Another newsflash: I've been here long enough to not be considered "new"
Another another newsflash: I have 1,500 posts, nearly double YOUR post count, so in a way, I've been here longer than you have.
Yeah.... not hardly, new kid. You just don't shut up. Some of us, much like Mr. Ed, will never speak unless we have something to say.
Was I even talking to you? And what the hell do you mean "Not hardly new kid?"

I wasn't even talking (Or Typing) to you, and you just jump in and say THAT, and THEN, you say "You just don't shut up. I don't say things unless I have something to say." The irony of course being that no one was talking to you, and you just did the same thing your ripping on me about.

Damn straight.

Anyway, my two cents on this is that by the time the sixth entry in a series of fighting games comes out (refering to Tekken; not including spin-offs like Tag Tournament and Advance), the developers probably expect people who pick it up to have some idea of what they're doing.

For the few people who start on that entry, that's most likely part of the reason why a practice mode is included.

Also, coincidentally, I'm playing good old Tekken 6 right now.

But fighting games are really simple nowadays thanks to online versus.

all you have to do is sift through a command list of a character you like, and find a few combos...
then go online and lose, so you can figure out the core game mechanics... and watch carefully for any combos or tricks the good players use online, and copy them.
then, decide the character you chose sucks... thus, when you lose with them its not all bad, and when you win its great...
then, find a character that overcomes the weaknesses of your previously selected character and restart the process...

in not long at all, youll have learnt the command lists, with which you can more easily copy other players strategies from the internets...
losing doesnt feel so bad, so you can train against real opponents without breaking your controller on the wall...
and you learn all the characters strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to both play as or against them with ease...

thats how ive learnt every fighting game ive played, with the exception of Dead or Alive, because every match is ranked... so i get punished for practicing... and tekken, because every character has the same strategy, so i cant complete the cycle...

Also, fighting game fans tend to be ludicrously hardcore. Fighting games are obviously made with them in mind. It's hard to make a game appeal to many different audiences and skill levels without alienating either.
maybe im one of these types...
its no wonder i cant understand why anyone has a problem with learning, and the A.I. especially...
but im a nice guy :< i dont consider myself hardcore at all...

The single player experience is completely different than playing with others. since most of the time, the computer has no idea you're combo spamming, and will usually walk right into it. most people only ever get good at fighters by playing someone else, like you've said.

Maybe stop derailing the thread to get your postcount up?
On Topic, I totally get what you mean. Street Fighter 4 I breezed through the first through characters, then I hit Seth and I was just like...Are you fucking kidding me. Also on Soul Calibur 4 the final boss was pretty average on normal difficulty, but you turn it up to hard and he chains together these RIDICULOUS combos. Damn core gamers and their making my games too hard to play..

Yeah, just recently played Street Fighter 4. With all the other games in the series (Hyper Fighting, Alpha, Marvel VS Capcom) i could finish it within an hour. Tried this on medium difficulty and got slaughtered!! Easy? No difference.

Either my tired fingers have grown weary of this genre, or they have got so much harder. I prefer the latter.

If you're having a hard time then might I recommend Blazblue? It's an easy to play yet hard to master kinda fighter. Plus you can do a lot of moves using the right control stick so if you just wanna do cool stuff then it's right up your alley. The boss is even easier than Seth despite the fact that she can attack you from the other side of the screen.

It's made by the same people that made Guilty Gear. Give it a shot if you're looking for something a little more forgiving the first time you play. it's only got 12 characters but they're all completely different from one another, unlike the clones you're apt to find in Street Fighter.

I for one like the difficulty being upped in fighters these days. it's a nice challenge and gives you reason to sit down and figure out how to play a character.

.....The fuck? WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?!??!?!?!?

You did the same damn thing as the last guy! You had nothing to do with this, and then you had to go all blitzkrieg bop and jump in so you could feel included.

And I wasn't doing shit until the Canadian guy started arguing, then he had to call a friend just to prove a point, and now YOU are here.

And what do you mean "Derailing" the thread? All I said was that I cant stand the new guys who don't bother spelling correctly, and then the entire Canadian royal army is on my ass.

So guess what smartass?

[HEADING=1] YOUR THE ONE DERAILING THE THREAD, NOT ME. [/HEADING]

Hakumen and Nu killed the arcade mode for Blazblue. They are just so crazy, even on normal.

I agree with the OP.
New fighting games frustrate me so much. The bosses of the last games were hard, but they made it easy for new players and difficulty was definetly raised for veterans.
But now it seems that the Finale must involve cheap bosses.
SETH: Every move from characters that were annoying especially Dahlism(think thas his name. the indian one)
Azazel: Can block attacks no matter what. especially if they intend on takind damage!

I meant hardcore to mean more skilled and dedicated, not one of the elitist types who's always talking about what it means to be a true gamer...although there is most definitely some overlap in those two groups.

Big time agreed on BlazBlue; I typically avoid non-SSB fighting games since I suck at them, but I got the hang of Noel in due time while still having things to get down (instant blocking, pulling off certain attacks in mid-air, grabbing, etc.). Hell, I'm using button combination's to pull off moves, while beforehand I couldn't do anything more advanced than Melee's analogue stick+B button.
