I know this is going to sound weird but i think the Alex Rider Stormbreaker movie was better then the book because it summed it all up in a hour and a half. The book was 200 pages long and it was that way because there was too many stupid details in it. But the Alex Rider stories are still amazing and you should check them out =]
I completely disagree, I disagree with the to many stupid details, well maybe some details weren't need and I'll be the first to admit that it's not my favorite alex rider book (scorpia and snakhead are neck in neck for sheer awesome spyness betrayle/espionage-ness) but I think the movie took the well written story and neccacary beggining of the saga, and turned it into a bubblely popy pre-teen fantasy movie.

they even threw in a needless love interest sub-plot so they could round it out for some clique's, yes there was a love interest in the books, for about 3 chapters in ark angel i think (i forget, the one where he goes to wimbleton and meets sabina) and then she had the good grace to disappear until at the very end of a later book wic basicly consisted over going "i'm still alive hi!" */book*

Also the movie just felt so...idk I hate to say childish, but the books had some grit to them, a toughness and you felt tension for Alex because horrowitz put himin postions that he BARLEY escapes from, and it was amazing, the movie just felt like a "well the good guy is gunna win so have fun watch kiddies!!" thing. I mean case in point, in stormbreaker you had the part where the two quads try to kill him with barbed wire in a hayfeild on the edge of a cliff, the part was awsome and gripping,

in the movie, it's like they forgot about it instead we get the scene where alex just happens to see his love interest trotting acrossed the road on a horse, so he jumps on it rides the horse with her. It was just stupid. The movie wasn't the worst adaptaion ever, but it I disagree with it being better than the book.

Anyways my vote for better movie than book is Nothing Lasts Forever (the book die hard was based on) the book seemed to drag a bit and wasn't very interesting, characterizing unimportant charcters, giving backstorys to people you didn't care about and were not important, however Die Hard (the first one) was one of the best action movies I've seen, it pretty much jumps right into the actual action and the story move's on at quite a pace and is well directed. Also John Mclane sounds way better than Joseph Leland don't you think?
