while most film-to-game conversions suck, there have been several films I have seen that would make incredible games, such as 28 days later or the good, the bad and the ugly. have you ever seen a film and thought "damn, I should be playing this"?

A sandbox 'Avatar' game, explore Pandora to your hearts content.

I havent really seen much movies and thought "Damn I should be playing this" but i have felt that about books before, wanting them to be movies and games... but it wont happen :(

I can't really think of any. Maybe a '300' RTS or something, but while I think that IP is kind of cool, the main attraction to any game will be the mechanics (and the story, but we will already know that).

What do you think will make "28 days later" or "The good, the bad and the ugly" good games? And what kind of games should they be?

Can't say I have, no. The problem with film to game games is that they have to be quite distinct from the film they're being made from. Goldeneye and Chronicles of Riddick only work because they're actually quite different from the films. They just use the settings, not every single scene, like some game movies do. I wouldn't mind a game set in the same universe as 28 days later, for example, but a game totally based on the plot of 28 days later would just be bad.
Spiderman 2 was kick-ass and followed the movie...OH WAIT. That's aged like shit.

Um...Kill Bill? Sure, it'd be a lot of cutscenes, but the Crazy 88 fight would be awesome.

28 days later I think would lend itself well to a first-person survival game, like l4d but with a larger dependence on single-player and melee weaponry, from the main characters point of view, or perhaps changing between viewpoints as the plot moves on. while combat would exist, plain survival would be the priority.

I would love to see a game based on 300. The only problem is that there's only one main setting where they fight in the movie to hold off the other army, but I'm sure some of the game could take place before that, maybe.

GRAND TURINO?! Not.
that would work as a wii game: waggle remote to be a grumpy bastard, point remote at screen to use finger gun, move remote while pressing a to be gunned down by gangers

How about Boondock Saints. You could find evidence and figure out how the scene went down... then play the gunfight as the brothers.

Saving Private Ry...OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE!

I suppose Groundhog Day would be pretty sweet. That or a heist movie. Any heist movie. Except Heist. Heist sucked.

it wouldn't be an amazing game but i could see 'Doomsday' as a game. And it's not a movie but a game set in the 'Edge Chronicles' universe.

The problem with 28 days later is that it would be very hard make it different from Left 4 Dead because once a good game is made e.g left 4,dead a lot of zombie games after that will be the same.take cod4 or modern warfare 2,there were loads of games after them where my friends would say "this is just like Call of Duty".
