Okay, so I remember this film from when I was about 8 and I used to watch it nearly every time when me and my dad went up to Yorkshire to visit his girlfriend (now wife).

It was basically this 90's/New Millennium B-Grade Horror film starring a team of soldiers/mercenaries who were kind of like space marines or some kind of hi-tech SWAT team who searching for some kind of treasure on this submarine, that was operational. The submarine has a monster that comes up from under the floor vents, through the walls etc. and kills them (bit like Alien but its kind of reptile like).

The team then splits into two squads and the one squad gets to this giant shutter door, that the other squad is trying to open it (unbeknownst to the team that just got there), both squads know there's something on the other side. So when the door opens, this really panicky soldier bloke swings and axe right down onto this dudes head and kills him to which the big black sergeant looking guy says: "YOU JUST KILLED MAH MAN!"

Anyways some stuff happens, they kill the reptile-alien-monster thingy and the submarine explodes and this man and woman aboard the submarine wind up on this tropical island inhabited by Dinosaurs or mutated reptiles or whatever they are only to find the comic relief, beret-wearing drip of a person coming out of the water and looking shocked. And then the credits roll.

Its really bugging me what this movie is and if anyone can tell me, I would appreciate it.

Anyways, if you can't or you have a film that can't remember the name of just put it here and see if someone knows it. Cheers.

I think the film you're describing is Deep Rising.

Not sure, you're going to have to give me an actor you recognized.

I don't really have a film whose name I don't remember, at least for more than a few minutes.

A stupid film where a guy is broke out of a prison van, moons a family in their car, they crash, he rescues a baby and pretends she's his son (he doesn't verify the sex), etc

Tries to blackmail her uncle, commits a robbery, tries to give her for adoption, baby grows up and the whole movie was a letter he wrote to his 6 year old daughter to tell her the truth.

Deep Rising sounds interesting. "Full Scream Ahead", the poster even has a corny wordplay.

"He and She will provide."

Some sort of science fiction (maybe) thing about a cult. And the hero was a flute player (I think?). But I always remember that line.

Ringing any bells with anyone?

Yeah, it's definitely Deep Rising. Giant sea monster attacks a cruise ship, and they're not a SWAT team, they're pirates. One guy's got a high-tech mercenary boat and he's hired by the pirates to take them out to the ship. I won't go into further detail for those that want to watch it, though. This is all stuff you learn in the intro to the movie. I'd say for a monster movie, though, it's actually pretty good. About as good as The Relic, anyway.

I saw this movie as a kid, and have wondered what it was ever since.

In it a guy moved in with his mom, (I think it might have been because he got divorced, but not sure).
And her house was a somekind of safe house for women, there was a male-to-female transexual there, as well as some women who cut off their tongues as a sign of solidarity for some woman who had had her tongue cut off by some kidnappers as a child.
Except one of the women was actually faking it and she had her tongue, and at one point the main character met a mute woman who was the original girl who had had the tongue cut off.
I think she helped him escape some place.
Also the main character (I think it was him) caught his girlfriend(?) cheating with some guy in a car and bit his penis off.

It was a fascinating movie for me as a kid. I'm not sure how old I was, but since it was in English and I could read the subtitles I must have been over 6, but probably not much older.

EDIT: movie identified. It's The World According to Garp.

I once saw an animated film while on a bus headed for Croatia. It was about a wash-up guy who was about to be sent into prison, but is given one last chance to sort himself out by being mentored by an elderly fellow (who himself is out to win an award, though I forget what for).

The movie involves a lot of basket as well. It was a quite touching film (to my 12-13 year old self at least), would really like know what its name was.

I remember a movie when I was quite young, the only scene I remember from it was a guy getting punched that hard he hit a wall and slid down with a blood trail on the wall, after that he got up and kicked ass some how, I think it may have been a street fighter movie but all the one's I have found do not have this scene in it. it was a cartoon movie, I think.

I doubt many people would had seen this film-
It's a asain film somewhere in the 80's I think. It was like a toy mech film as I think at the start of the film there were two toy helicopter and combine together to form a mech. I think that mech was going to killed this guy on the phone in his mansion I think?
Near at the end of the small there were an army of small toy mech battling it out with that helicopter mech from the start of the film and they are getting destory easily by the helicopter.
That all I can remember and no I am not making it up!! Also no claymation was used in this film.

That sounds a little bit like The World According to Garp. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_According_to_Garp]. Good movie. Well, I liked it, but I like Robin Williams. Don'g judge me.

EDIT: Changed the link to the film version; it was the book before. Sorry.

Good thread...!

I have 2:

1) One was a film where 4 people at the start die, and they come back as ghosts that only a newborn baby can see... I remember a funny scene where the baby is being entertained by the ghosts and laughing, but to the parents it looks like the baby is laughing at a blank wall...
Then as the kid grows up, the ghosts are his freind, but then something happens and they leave him... Cut to adulthood, and the ghost return to help him with his job... That's all I remember, any ideas?

2) A kid finds a spaceship... and on board are a load of little monsters in cages... one eats his cap! And then the kid takes the space ship, and flys off... that's all I rememebr of that, possibly all I saw too!

Flight of the Navigator?

Sorry, can't help with any of the others.

Made a quick check, nope, that wasn't it. The film you linked to wasn't animated.

Actually the first "adult" anime I ever saw, was Perfect Blue. I watched the ending of it when I was about 8-9 and I was so freaked out. (Ah the innocent me, so naive) I only found out last week that it was THAT movie.

Hmm, I remember seeing only a part of a movie where, a large and creepy looking bald guy, frankensteins himself a girlfriend with old body parts. (I'm not sure if she is totally from scratch or a dead lover, but anyway) He sews her together and when she is brought back to life, she can't stand what she has become. So she sets herself on fire and jumps off of a tower. Where upon he, not being able to cope without her, happily commits suicide via viking funeral, on a burning boat. I only ever saw these scenes of it, but it was enough to grab my attention.
