Final Fantasy 13

I don't know about everyone else, but I cannot wait until this game is released.
I love the FF series, I have played them from, FF 7 upwards. Eagerly waiting for 13 to come out. I also hear it's coming out on the Xbox 360? Anyone raise more knowledge about that?

Yeah another great SE game for 360 a shame SO4 will be on it too and tht kills me I hope 13 has a decent battle system they keep making new ones it can be annoying.

The reason it's not out until 2010 US/Eur now is that the 360 version is only shipping outside of Japan & there seems to be a hell of a lot more development time put into porting it to the Microsoft console, which is also delaying the PS3 release in those regions.

The PS3 version (Japanese) is due for late this year, or so I read.

The reason it's not out until 2010 is that it always takes them six months to localise a Final Fantasy game, because they don't even start until after the Japanese release.

Porting to the Xbox will be taking place at the same time as localisation, and will not introduce any significant delays.

Gah i couldnt live with 360 without ps3 it seems to hve the best rpgs and the good 360 games get remade for ps3 (eternal sonata) but i dont like the whole lightning = femle cloud thing hes an ass.

I don't think Lightning will really be that similar to Cloud, people just made the assumption since they're both blonde and are both soldiers, and I agree, Cloud's a mopey little twit.

Dude, Eternal Sonata was not a good game. For either system. Although I did learn more than I cared to about passed-out composer men in top hats.

I didn't get around to playing FF XII, but I'm pretty sure 13 will be more of the same: spicy CGI, an unnecessarily complex variation on the standard Final Fantasy battle system, lots of infuriating side quests for ultimate weapons you don't really need, and a romantic plot element between a girl and a guy who looks like a girl.

Since it's coming out for the 360, I'll probably grab it, but tentatively... the 360 has a bit of a dubious track record of underwhelming JRPGs.

As long as the battle system is NOTHING like FFXII - I will love it.

I bought a guide for FFVIII, when I was about 13, usually buy them when I finish the game, get everything on the second playthrough & they're always a good read!

all i have to say is that i am not excited for the new FF game. I do not think that it will be as good as previous games, or it will be another XII in my data bank.

As long as the battle system is NOTHING like FFXII - I will love it.

Yeah that's what I do as well. Well as long as I don't get stuck on the game and find myself not being able to Kill a certain somebody, then I will get the walk through.
It's surprising to see how much you run past really.

i loved eternal sonata annoying at times but overall a great game dont make me regret loving it T.T (sorry off topic) final fantasy 13 may turn out to be another 12 (a bad game but you cant stop playing, sorta like 9)

I'm a big Final Fantasy fan, and I'm not that excited for it, maybe because it's not being released till last year.
Plus, if you enjoyed 7+, go back and play the older ones, you might enjoy them more.

Definately, I got through FF7 the first time not knowing how to breed a gold Chocobo so I could get the Knights of the Round summon, Emerald Weapon was alot easier when I knew that you could get all characters to mime the KotR summon!

Yeah, about that... what was so awful about the random encounter system of, say, FF VII? It worked fine. FF XII by comparison had a battle system which, while being something innovative for the series, I would have to characterize as a big can of poops and giggles. I hope they go back to the roots on this one.

Anyway, judging from the trailers I'm actually more interested in FF Versus XIII... has more of a Midgar feel to it than all the pure fantasy and/or steampunk stuff of the last games.
And on a final note: WHY did they have to bring the gunblade back? It looked stupid and was a useless contraption way back then, and time hasn't improved it. Meh.

Yeah, I like getting teh walkthroughs, as it makes life easier and it doesn't actually take any fun out of the game. It's still a hard game, you just have a much better idea of what you have to do etc...
