Oddly enough, I don't have Cloud on this list simply because I spent time with Tifa on my team, and she distracted me from any crap that came out of his mouth.

Keep using Lancet on every type of enemy. You may just get something useful (Hint: Look at my previous post on this thread. It's one of those abilities.) Plus, he starts out with a Piercing weapon, which doesn't appear again until Auron appears in Luca.darrinwright said:

It is a mark of just how...bland FFXII was that I can barely remember any of the characters people are saying they hate from it. So I guess I can't really hate them if I don't remember them.
Therefore, I will have to go with Irvine. A) Pretty useless. B) The whole "lone ranger" thing is tiresome. C) He has a ***** fit when his "un-matched" sniper skills are actually needed.

Squall was entertaining, the only time he could maintain a conversation with another person was when they were unconscious. Lulz abound.

Not enough time playing with earlier Final Fantasys (Fantasies? Can I do that with proper names?), but I'll list for those I have.
FF7 - ...hey...
FFX-2 - I like Rikku...she was pretty effective comic relief. Paine was aggravating. Her brooding was tolerable at first, but it just went on, and on...after grinding levels for Trema I got real pissed off with her one-liners and flippant attitude. Oh, and add Yuna. She's real wishy-washy.

FF12 - It's Vaan. Not Van, or Vayne, who I believe were both characters on their own. I really dislike him. Don't even bother asking why, because I'm just going to say "everything." Him, along with the Licence Grid, are the reasons I never finished the damned thing.Mysticgamer said:

Sephiroth. I'll admit it's mainly because he's overrated, which is an unfair reason not to like a character but whatever. He just wasn't that good of a villain. Seriously, he was just there, he wasn't that scary or have that much of a presence, and the character 'developement' of sane to insane was minimal at best. The "My mother" thing was probably more bad localisation, but still pretty damn ridiculous.
But, above all, WHY THE FUCK WAS HE ALL UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH CLOUD? So the guy stabbed him, so what? He lived didn't he, and it was in self-defence. The "I'll be in you nightmares rawr" speeches were just... weird. Urrrghhh, I'd carry on but I've ran out of steam. Jenova was a much better villain, they should have concentrated more on her.
Oh, and Kuja actually managed to destroy a whole planet with his own powers, no need for a meteor, WITHOUT mummy's help

I forget some of the names of the characters. Its been awhile since I've played some of the games.
FF1 - I didn't like that the dragons has such a pathetic role. Okay you get an almost insignificant upgrade from them but they has no purpose.
FF2 - I cant remember enough to comment.
FF3 - I haven't gotten around to playing the DS game yet. Nes version was too long ago to comment.
FF4 - I didn't like the Tolls. Tellah annoyed me a little bit.
FF5 - I didn't like the old guy with amnesia.
FF6 - I liked the main characters, except Gau. Also I didn't like the Jellyfish Squid thing or the ghosts on the ghost train.
FF7 - I liked Yuffie. Just needed to say that I personally didn't like Cid all that much...

FF9 - Quina. I mean why? Blue Mage can be done so well but nooooo, we have to have a doll/tonberry clone.
FF10 - Kimari annoyed me only because he wasnt given a proper purpose. I cant say I really liked Donna so much.She was rude for not proper reason.

FF11 - I didn't like the Mitra who starts the Aht Urgan missions... The more she says, the more I dislike her. Any NPC Taru annoyed me because the speak like "We Really-Weally need to startaru talking aboutaru the mission-wission."
FF12 - The main characters didn't annoy me. However, I didn't like the guest characters. Mostly because they don't level.
I might mention the characters from the spin off games later.

I actually don't have any complaints about Tidus. No, seriously.
Damn Seymour, though. He's creepy as all hell. I guess that was the point, but really. He's creepy. And 4 times? 4? You know, some people stay dead when you kill them. Then there's Seymour.

While you are right there, I just have to point out that he wasn't a very likeable character
The amount of Gil you can get in that game that you never need to use is staggering, so eventually I just replaced him with potions (His name was Mikoto, by the way)
