Final Fantasy with best music

Agreed. For many people, FF6 convinced everyone that Final Fantasy's music was one of the best.

When played with real instruments, it clearly shows its awesomness.
From "The Black Mages", the band of Nobou Uematsu, composer of all the FF music.

I've always loved FF6's music, and it's very hard for me to choose between it and the one that I have to go with.

It's a tough choice, but Final Fantasy Tactics would probably be my favorite. I could listen to pretty much any track at any time and enjoy it.

Everything from the boss themes to the main menu song and the overworld theme is just beautiful in one way or another.

I'm going with 6 as the best overall soundtrack. Each area and character has a solid theme for it and the second boss theme, Kefka's finale, the operatic bits, and the ending shine in particular.

8 deserves mention as the last few musical scores for the castle and the final boss fights are among the best in the series. It's absolutely criminal that they're tucked way at the end and that much of the rest of the game is filled with techno-pop. If only it had all been of the same style as at the end. This game tends to get overlooked quite a bit.

FFIX for a few reasons
1- Uematsu said that it was his favourite (i think)
2- the piano version of "melodies of life" is what inspired me to start learning piano
3- All the themes are just done so perfectly for their characters eg. Rose of May
4- No music has EVER been able to bring out emotions within me like that of IX has, I get teary eyed just listening to some of it, Ah memories.

I cannot really play favorites with the Final Fantasy series in music. Hell, music is the ONLY thing I liked about FF8, so obviously it's very enjoyable for me. I have albums of 7, 9, and 10. I like the music from even more than that, and I think the Black Mages are awesome as hell. Good symphonic releases and remixes are also welcome in my heart.
