False. Squaresoft was a fucking brilliant company UNTIL Enix BOUGHT THEM. You're trying to claim that Square is aiming for all this "bad content".. The games started getting "worse" AFTER Square was bought BY Enix. FFX-2 was one of the first games under the new name.l3o2828 said:

Ok, this is why a lot of FF Fan want this thing to die. They were pretty divided on it (a bit like Metroid Other M), both to the extreme. Now instead of trying to meet both side's demand, they actually turn this into a pet project from the producer. It's like seeing the preview of Final Fantasy - The fanfic of the fanfic the game.
Didn't the tale of Sonic the Hedgehog reach them? Of how they fell an never were able to be big again? They should have learn their lesson, but if they don't, they sure as hell gonna do now because nobody who dislike that game (like I do) will be stupid enough to buy it.

No, from a fan of Final Fantasy... and a guy that went under the pseudonym of THE RED MAGE. They made great games, from Kingdom Hearts series to Dissidia, Tactical Ogre and Musashi: Samurai Legend. They published a lot of games, but they weren't made by them. But I do agree that they haven't made any recent hit as of yet. Only catastrophe.MattAn24 said:

The battle system was very... divisive. On one hand, people praised its fast pace and cinematic flare. It can certainly make a fight look exciting, so in terms of presentational style it's fairly successful. On the other hand, the actual statistics and mechanics driving it were exceptionally shallow. I LOVE Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts. Hell, I own both on PSP and play them whenever I can. They certainly haven't made "catastrophic" games though.. I thoroughly enjoyed FFXIII and played it daily since purchase. I bought the collector's edition (game AND numbered hardcover guide), I enjoyed the battle system, I enjoyed changing my role mid-battle depending on the situation. Battles are still rather challenging and I've completed the game and unlocked the Stage 10 Crystarium.
In most WRPGs, you don't exactly have to use your brain much. You just shoot bullets from "the gun". I plan my attack according to the enemy I'm fighting in Final Fantasy games. I study them and adjust to stay ahead of the curve.
I didn't even mind the plot.. Seemed fairly simple to me. They're l'Cie. Treated as outcasts/enemies by humans of Cocoon and so they're on the run. Some of the "chosen" l'Cie can't/won't accept that and stray from their supposed "mission". Add some RPG drama and party member lulz along the way and all's fine.
Now, FFXIII, through my eyes, is by no means "perfect". Every game has its flaws. Every game is not going to appeal to every gamer. I understand that there are flaws but I got what I wanted from my time, so I see no reason to complain. Christ, I'm still playing the damn game to this day, every so often, just for some lulz and Behemoth juggling.

seriously Square Enix, why not, as opposed to repeating the mistake you made with FFX, just remake FF7; trust me, more people will buy this.

also, this proves that SE is pretty much indifferent to the Final Fantasy MAIN series by now; why? because:
They haven't remade FF7, an OBVIOUS cash-in that everyone and their cat would buy.
They are making FF Versus 13 similar to Kingdom Hearts (which was AWSOME).
They released the Dissidia games, which weren't completely automatic.
And Kingdom Hearts BBS wasn't automatic.
However, if YOU want to enjoy the game, then so be it. you've stated your opinion, DON'T attack everyone else because they don't like an obviously terrible flaw (repitition for effect).

Yeah, I've read some synopsys... but the way it was delivered was bad. Like the guys (and girl) of Extra Credit said: Show, don't tell. The glossary should be there only for those who left the game for a long time and decided to pick it up. It's too late to explain when you are several hours in.
I agree. I love Metal Gear Solid 2 more then any other game in the series (I've got my reason, but I don't want to make a 54 page dissertation on it). The problem is: Sequel should improve on and correct those flaws. Deadly Premonition have a cult following because of it's flaws, but if they were to make a sequel, some of those flaws should be corrected. In FF13's case, they weren't funny but aggravating and should have been the first things on the blackboard to be crossed out.

Actually, a lot of your argument is flawed. Saying "SE is indifferent to the Final Fantasy MAIN series now" either shows you're an incredibly butthurt FFVII fanboy or you just can't tolerate there being spin-offs that people WILL enjoy, whether you like it or not.
I likes me some Final Fantasy, but I don't exactly want Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time or Ring of Fates.. I didn't really care for FFVIII that much.. But it exists and people enjoy it. They aren't WRONG. They just like playing it, whereas I prefer to play a different game.

Again, you misread. I don't "love" them, nor do I hate them. Apparently quotation marks aren't a valid form of "this is what people seem to believe". I did the same for "bad content". Because that's subjective. Just because a group of people think something, doesn't mean the other group has to as well. I knew the first comment would be negative. FF13 IMO does not deserve any of the shit it gets. The battle system is prefectly fine to me and it only took half an hour to get adjusted to the basics.
