So, a few people who dug into it found a few days ago that the Japanese internet portal for Final Fantasy XIII displayed a Steam logo at the bottom of the web page.
Lo and behold, also in the wake of a recent PC release for Final Fantasy IV, here it is [http://store.steampowered.com/app/292120/].
I... am not really sure what to make of this.
On the one hand, as many people may recall, Final Fantasy XIII is one of the only games in existence I have ever felt strongly enough about to state that I actually "hate" it. On the other hand, despite feeling the same way every single time I've tried to play it to the point where I traded back in my PS3 copy of the game, I've always had the nagging feeling of wanting to finish it. Because it's Final Fantasy. Dammit, Square.
So what do people think of this incredibly strange turn of events? Is it nice that PC is getting a little more attention from the Japanese RPG side of the industry for once, even if it is for Final Fantasy XIII? Does it not matter, because it's Final Fantasy XIII? Is anyone else questioning their morals and thinking they might try it again because we all have a history of masochism? Is $16 as weird of a price point as I think it is?
EDIT: Update: Thanks to NuclearKangaroo, PC Gamer reports [http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/09/18/final-fantasy-xiii-confirmed-for-pc-releasing-next-month/] that apparently the entire XIII trilogy will eventually be coming to PC.
