I don't think this Pearson guy was talking about overall sales across the country, just his own companies figures.

Either way, I'm happy FF13 is coming to Xbox, as I have it here with me, rather than it being PS3 exclusive which would mean I could only play it on holidays when I visit home.

Eh, Final Fantasy jumped from Nintendo to Sony before, so I don't see why the jump to Microsoft is such a big deal, especially since the Sonyfans don't actually lose anything in the deal.

Also, one big factor to FF13s success on the Xbox might be that the PS3 has many more similar games than the Xbox has, so fans of jRPGs who own an Xbox don't really have much to choose from, and will gladly jump at the chance to play one of the biggest titles in the genre on their preferred platform..

I already knew this really. First of all, there's the psychological aspect. As in, the feeling of victory that ma,y 360 owners must have. They want to be a part of the victory and so they want to buy it. Then there's the actual game itself. They haven't had the pleasure of playing a main series Final Fantasy before.
For us PS3 owners it's same old, same old. Sort to speak.

I had a friend call me up yesterday to ask if they could borrow the spare PS3 because they didn't want to play the 360 version. Um- no.

I'm sure there won't be many differences, and I think it's great the everyone gets a chance to play it.

Okay in all seriousness, this may or may not happen. I know a lot of people who'll just buy it on the PS3. Just depends on what differences the 360 version has compared to the PS3 version.

Final Fantasy has been released on both sony and Windows from 7-9.
10, and 12 being the exception.
(but honestly who didn't own a ps2 anyways?, 10, and x-2 are probably the two games no one cared about, and 12 was soo freaking late in the game it begs.. wtf wasn't it ps3?)

Anyways, the main point is this.
The Majority of the Final Fantasy Fans, Own Sony Consoles.
The Majority of 360 fans, Are Halo and Cod Fanbois.
There might be a margin of FF fans who own 360 as it was cheaper than ps3, and were going to buy a ps3 only when FFXIII came out, only to find it went multi-. But realistically I believe the number of people who actually BUY FFXIII and don't return it back to gamestop in a week, are going to be PS3 owners. PS3 & 360 have very few RPGs that have been released so far, and theres a ton of PS3 fans that have been waiting for a Good RPG to come out.

And unless EVERY Ps3 ownder, and EVERY 360 owner were to buy FFXIII (which yes, would be fucking awesome) thats about the only way I see 360 beating ps3 in FFXIII sales.

not sure if that works, but assuming those numbers are at all correct.
360 is only 6M units ahead of Ps3. So even then its best that they'd have a 5 to 4 advantage.
Thats world wide, not America. America PS3 is 9M units behidn 360.
Europe, 360 is short 300,000 units.
And the wii is still fuuuking ridiculous.

Now if they were to sell FFXIII on Wii, 360, and ps3. it would most definately beat 360 and ps3 sales on the wii.... Thats litterally a 3:1 advantage.

Im sure there will be a small amount of fan boys who will buy it on 360 just to run their mouths, this will be on top of the 360 owners who are looking forward to the game. That might edge 360 sales over PS3 sales but so what? Squeenix will make a boat load of cash from both consoles, who cares? It is the benefit of a multiplatform release.

This is one 360 owner who will not be buying it. I already know the reviews will treat it like the second coming but I am thoroughly bored of FF titles and JRPGs in general.

I've got a PS3. I won't be buying it. The quality of Final Fantasy has been crap since Final Fantasy X and it's just not worth my money any more.

I don't envy 360 owners having to use four disks though.

but most of these games are bad IMO. I think the ps3 will out sell the 360, because i think the ff fan base is still bigger on the ps3.

I'm pretty sure this dude is FoS. The searches amount of searches does not account for the how many people who own 360s who may use the sight over how many use the Playstation and it also does not account for repeat searches. Also if I remember right I'm pretty sure that the PS3 was selling fairly well compared to 360s over Christmas in Europe last year. I could be wrong and really I don't care either way, but I hate this pseudoscience (close enough to it) crap.

I got FF13 for my PS3 for 3 main reasons because I couldn't find any reasons that were different from the 360 and the PS3.

1. Only 1 disc, not 3 because I'm lazy
2. Need to up my PS3 library
3. Need more trophies (I'm a achievement/trophy whore)

lol statistical fail. The site is a discount retailer. The effect of the price difference is probably exaggerated among people trying to get a console as cheaply as possible, resulting in their 360-heavy sales trends. Given that they're a preferred site for 360 users (like, all the people that bought consoles there already) NO DUH there are also going to be more searches at that site for games on 360.
