Well, if a game company is putting out terrible games and their most recent mega investment is the worst game yet, he might have made a good call cashing out. Maybe.

Or he could be nuts, but even if he's nuts he's rich enough to get away with it.

Really though, if that is true, that's a huge amount of stock to throw away over a game, but I guess it will hopefully teach SE to learn to make games again.

Or it could be an amazing investment move.
Selling off the stock when its higher then buying a lot back while its at a lower price so you can get more money out of it.

That actually may have been a good investment move if FF14 is as bad as people are telling me it is. He might have just made some nice money there.

Awesome. I do hope they don't kill the game, I hope they fix it cause I already bought it.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if we start hearing news of a good portion of the dev team being laid off, sometime next year. I just don't see this game making a good enough return of investments in the coming months. Especially with the mass of people canceling their subscriptions before the end of their 30day free trial.

I can't help but think what will happen when he calms down and realizes how much he just lost when they make some new game that everyone love/hates but buys anyway cause Cloud is on the cover...

Well making poor and generally mediocre if not below average games has become a bit of an SE trend. FFXIV was probably this guys last straw.
