so i just beat gears 3 on hardcore with a friend, and i just wanted to know, who else thought that boss battle at the end was the most repetitive, most frustrating, boring motherfucking boss battle of all time?

i mean the amount of fucking guards just climbing the walls, and that fat ass wasp thing constantly burning you, flying off, then attacking the tower and repeating about 10 times, i got so annoyed i was about to just leave it. (but i didnt, i beat it)

Please tell me your experiences with the battle and what you thought of it

Disagreed. Intense as hell, loved it. And, it actually gave us a chance rather than getting gibbed instantly if you did one thing wrong in Gears 1's finale.

I found a lot of the ending in Gears 3 to be a bit underwhelming in comparison to Gears 2. While it's final boss was pathetically easy you still got to romp around on a giant dinosaur(Brumak) and murderize the hell out of the locust stronghold before it was all over.

A similer event is missing entirly in Gears 3.

Personally thought that it was great. I played on solo so the boss did not take as much damage.

Unlike many bosses we are used to, beating this one actually felt like an achievement, especially on insane.

Agreed on all points. RAAM was definitely a fucker to beat. Though what do you expect for a guy who's entire name is in capitals, is surrounded by kryll and carries a mounted turret.

I miss the kryll :(

It was awesome the first few times, but after 10+ times of helping friends, and beating Insane, it gets a little sickening.

Due to certain reasons beyond my control (Xbox died before I could play it, then brother took my copy before i got a new one), I never played 2, so...What happened to them?

I liked the finale especially since Carmine actually lives
Precisely.

It doesn't matter if I see his face or not.
So long as he lived, I was fine.

I thought that the end boss was kind of boring. It lacked the ability to really get you by surprised. All it was was a little dodging and waiting. There wasn't much to it.

I really enjoyed the whole game--it was extremely fun--but I think the bosses and story could have been better.

That's the only point in the entire game I actually cheered for.

Though the game felt like ten minutes of exposition was missing from it to explain just WTF was going on.

When the lightmass bomb went off at the end of 1, it wiped out the Kryll's breeding grounds. They went extinct. Since the Lightmass process works by converting Immulsion into pure shiny energy, and the Kryll burst into flame when shined by a flashlight, its not all that hard to believe.

it wasn't an epic fight, bit more of a grind that is true, but it was still great because you the boss interact with a third element made it interesting, the end was great, so anti climatic, no lose ends tied up for you and it was empty, the same way marcus was empty.

I'm not exactly 100% sure to hate it or like it since I don't have friends on XBL killing that wasp felt a bit intense and the guards were suppose to up the rush but they just annoyed me the experience, and it felt like Epic Games ran out of insane ideas to lead up to the ending like riding a Brumak or killing RAAM and the end scene where the queen dies kinda felt...
detached, I'm sure everyone who played all gears wanted to kill her personally or something like that..

The kryll all died and I was particularly disappointed. Though as their breeding grounds got nuked it was kinda expected. The rest of the game, well wikipedia has a decent description, but it's had to really get it without actually playing it.

Well it was probably the best final boss out of all the Gears games, seeing as Raam in the first Gears was nearly impossible to beat (I couldn't do it on casual) and the "boss" in Gears 2 was pathetically easy.
Still, the ending as a whole sort of lacked the scope that I was expecting, and the last level of the trilogy being set on a confined rooftop was a little disappointing.

Agreed, i couldn't stand just waiting around for it to land, and then doing the same thing about 5 more times. Ugh.
