They could always trademark their names into other things.Gethsemani said:I have a friend who's feeding me this information day by day at this point and it all looks like it might come out as the best DLC for the Warhammer games yet, which is saying something considering that Tomb Kings, Norsca and Wood Elves were all stellar. I am personally quite stocked to play Aranessa, but Noctilus and his Davy Jones deal is also pretty intriguing.Samtemdo8 said:In case you are haven't seen it and are curious, here is everything known about this DLC so far and what comes with it:
It isn't, sadly. The reason they nuked Warhammer Fantasy Battles is because they were having trademarking issues. Since Elves, Dwarves, Orcs etc. are considered fantasy staples Games Workshop could not trademark them and thus lost a ton of potential profits in exclusivity and trademark deals. The same thing happened to some extent with 40, where the Imperial Guard and Space Marines had to change their names so they could be trademarked. The hassle with changing the name of pretty much everything in FB was probably more then changing a few names in 40k though, so instead they turned to AoS, where every single name can be (and is) trademarked.Samtemdo8 said:I still feel a reboot/relaunch is on the horizon.
They could just say that Age of Sigmar is a what-if scenario and still sell it.
I mean the Elves and Dwarfs can be refered to thier in universe names like Asur, Asrai, and Druchii for the 3 Elves, and Dawi and Dawi Zharr for the Dwarfs and Chaos Dwarfs especially.
