First off. It's not pause music, but it was the first game I ever played, where the music/sound bugged the hell out of me.

I mean, just listen to that Sphinx at the end of the levels... Who wouldn't strangle their mother to make that awful noise stop. Thank god somebody back in the 80's took time off from looking gloomy and aloof, to put mute-buttons on the remotes... that is, if your TV had a remote.
