-FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for 3DS announced for May 19th release
-FE Switch announced for 2018 release
-FE Warriors Trailer shown off releasing Autumn 2017 for both Switch and New 3DS
& - FE Heroes for mobile coming to android Feb 2nd and later in the year for iOS.

Of all the games to remake, they chose Gaiden? Okay cool, figured it would be Geneology or Tharcia 776 that got the remake treatment.
Warriors is releasing on the new 3ds as well. At least the N3DS version won't get more content than the console version.
Mobile game looks alright, maybe a little basic. Though that's the point.
And an exclusive Switch FE in 2018, awesome.

I'm really happy that FE Warriors is coming out in Autumn. it's making the Switch look more attractive now that we have a confirmed timeframe on when we can expect it.

Zelda at launch.
Mario Kart at the end of April.
Splatoon 2 sometime in the middle of the year.
Then Fire Emblem Warriors soon after in Autmn.
Then Mario Odyssey for holidays

-Switch: "There, ya got a new console FE. Now stop bitching" said Nintendo to the FE fanbase.

-FE Warriors: Still holding stuff close to the chest. We'll get more in the coming months.

Not a bad Direct as it did its intended purpose. I certainly wasn't expecting the Echoes announcement even if I was predicting a new FE entry (though I also got that in the FE Switch)

If you had said to me a few years ago that Fire Emblem was getting 4 games in a single Direct I would've laughed at you HARD. But Fire Emblem has indeed been catching up after they threatened to end the series if Awakening didn't sell.

Fire Emblem Awakening was going to be the last game in the entire series and then it ended up doing amazing sales numbers and now it's moved on to become one of Nintendo's biggest franchise's

From what I've heard, "Echoes" is a new subseries. If Shadows of Valentia does well, we could see the Jugdral games getting entries.

Super Mario 3D World was a main 3D Mario. just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it wasn't a main 3D Mario game.

and Wii U may not have had a main Zelda but it did have Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Pikmin, Donkey Kong Country, Xenoblade, Starfox and Splatoon.

being mad because you didn't get 1 main Zelda game on 1 system is just being whiny. it's not like Nintendo doesn't already give people millions of Zelda games already.

actually, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, as well as NSMBU & NSLU and The Wonderful 101 and also Wind Waker HD all came out within the first year of the Wii U's life and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze came out in February 2014.

I've never actually played Gaiden, so I'm looking forward to the remake

honestly though had you told me 5 years ago Fire Emblem of all series would end up as one of nintendo's major franchises I would not have believed you

Hopefully they'll remember to stock some decent armor this time around. I never really got the battle maids thing.

And don't just slam a generational mechanic in there if it doesn't make sense. One layer of ships is enough.
