As we all know, there's an upcoming Warriors game coming to the Switch, and it's based off Fire Emblem. As far as the full roster of characters go, who do you think are going to be released with the game?, and\or who do you think will be released as DLC?

As for default characters, as there has been a suspicious lack of lance users, and they're probably going to use Shadow Dragon characters other than Marth, my money's on Caeda being one of the defaults.

As for DLC, due to his popularity in Smash, maybe Ike (though, probably the original Path of Radiance design, since his Radiant Dawn design wasn't exactly well received in Japan apparently). On top of that, maybe alternate gender versions of Robin and Corrin, though maybe with tweaked movesets to justify purchasing them (like maybe male Corrin can weave boxing-styled punches into his sword slashes, like how his female counterpart uses kicks while wielding Yato).

EDIT: Just so we're clear, the default roster will, apparently, only include Awakening, Fates, and Shadow Dragon characters.

Oh come on, that's far too wide a list to make reasonable predictions.

All I can say is that most, if not all of the characters will be from Awakening onwards. I mean, just look at the cover art - the only Fire Emblem character from outside Awakening/Fates on it is Marth, and he's arguably the poster boy for the series as a whole, so of course he gets in there.

I have a feeling Takumi and Camilla will both make it into the game. There are two particular reasons for adding Camilla while Takumi is one of the more popular Fates characters and one of the more popular archers which is a class that often lacks fan favorites.

Shadow dragon predictions are a bit harder to make. They can go in many directions with this one and considering how lackluster that roster a lot is riding on them making the right choices. They could include all the rare characters that still hold up like Camus, Minerva and especially Hardin but I don't see this happening. They still need to acknowledge the first members of the Fire emblem archtypes, even if they are very dull and if they want an axe user to ensure the weapon triangle remains balanced its even possible we might see a blank slate like Barst make it into the game.

For the villains it will probably be Gharnef for Shadow Dragon, either Gangrel or Grima for Awakening and Garon for fates.

I would hope they would put in Hector as he is the best axe lord. Maybe Ephriam on the fact that he is one of the few lords who bas specializes in lances?

I don't know... Micaiah?

I feel like her chances might be hurt by Corrin, seeing as she's no longer the only magic-using Lord.

I think it's been stated that only Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates will have representation as far as defaults go.

The default character list is, apparently, limited to Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates characters. Also, Corrin's mostly a swordswoman, with kicks and dragon transformations complimenting. Robin's in as a tome user though.

As mentioned elsewhere, apparently the default roster is comprised only of Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates characters.

Why, it's quite easy! They're obviously going to include the beloved fan favourites, such as Ike, Sigurd, Finn, Gonzales, Arvis (or whatever name that the localizers have finally agreed on), the 'give Rutger the Dieck' buddy combo, and, of course 'I'm going to capture a fully fortified castle with 4 men'-Ephraim. Asvel and Seth would be nice too.

Or at least that's what a tell myself at night.

As DLC, maybe, what about the main roster? (check OP for details, I don't want to type that anymore).

From the trailers we know for sure;

Marth (Lord)

Anna (Trickster/Outlaw)

Chrom (Lord)
Lucina (Lord)
Robin (Tactican)
Lissa (Healer/War Monk)
Frederick (Great Knight)

Corrin (Lord/Manakete)
Xander (Paladin)
Ryoma (Swordmaster)

As for speculation as to who else could be coming? Based on popularity and niches to fill in a Warriors-style game?

Bold = Almost Certain to Appear

Ike (Lord/Hero)
Jill (Wyvern Rider)

Roy (Lord)
Lyndis (Lord)
Hector (Lord/General)
Ninian (Dancer)

Tiki (Manakete)

Camilla (Malig Flyer - basically, Dark Flyer)
Takumi (Archer)
Azura (Songstress)
Arthur (Fighter)
Selkie (Kitsune)

Tharja (Dark Mage)
Cordellia (Pegasus Knight)
Virion (Archer)
Gaius (Thief)
Maribelle (Troubadour)
Miriel (Mage)
Olivia (Dancer)

Alm (Fighter)
Celica (Priestess)
Sonya (Mage/Witch)

Have they not already said all the characters?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Emblem_Warriors

It is highly unlikely to reach the roster number of Dynasty or Samurai Warriors. Hyrule Warriors only had so many characters.

Should they make sequels, then it could get far higher, but until then, dont get carried away.

Well, it can't hurt to wonder due to the surprising lack of Shadow Dragon characters. Japanese games tend to focus on the Japanese market first and foremost, and it seems odd to only include one rep from one of the most iconic universes to the home audience. That, combined with the surprising lack of lance users, is why I figured Caeda would be confirmed eventually.

Doesn't matter what's "Iconic" the radiant and Blazing Sword cycles were the best games, therefore we need more from them.

From what I understand it's mostly Awakening and Fates characters. Which craters my interest.

Unfortunately, fame\infamy can easily trump quality. It's why the Twilight Saga, and the Bayformers films, were as profitable as they were. Thus, since Japan loves the Marth games, and Japanese devs tend to focus on the home market first and foremost (despite the fact that Nintendo has a much bigger audience in the States), it's reasonable to assume that the Shadow Dragon games would get more than it's fair share of focus.
