After reading the title, I am disappointed with the context, I thought someone was conducting a sort of Gaming Olympics and the first American had dropped out. Not that any Westerner could ever win the Gaming Olympics, Asians got that shit down, they keep going till they die, hardcore.

Wow. Just...wow. Four days straight playing Modern Warfare 3? How could you possibly not notice that you haven't had a drink in 84 hours? Wouldn't you feel thirsty or something? Could someone possibly be THAT checked out from reality?
It sounds like the kid has some serious issues beyond just playing games if he detaches himself from reality so completely that he becomes unaware of his own bodily needs. I'd get him to a psychotherapist ASAP.
Also, how could the parents not get suspicious at all? Protip: If your kid is playing games when you go to bed, and STILL playing games when you wake up in the morning, he needs to take a break. Unless you really don't notice in the slightest, in which case, you are a terrible parent.

The problem isn't that he was playing video games. The problem was that he played video games for 5 days straight. Apparently drinking minimal water. What wouldn't make you drop after doing it for 5 days without necessary refreshments?
