I think the first one I actually played was Dark Side on the Spectrum, which was all flipscreen and flat shaded monochrome geometric shapes.

I was six at the time so when I played that it was a "Mommy, what are they doing?" She turned on the parental lock after that but I still had fun with it.

Medal of Honor: Frontline is what I would call my first proper 1st person shooter.

It was automatically on inverted look, and I never have changed it, I play all my shooters on inverted!

An ancient PC game called Shadow Warrior. I don't think I had even turned ten. It was pretty lousy, although you got to slice people up with teeth on it. The blood even remained on the sword.
