Jak and Daxter, or possibly Gran Turismo 3. No, scratch that, Monsters inc. Actually, scratch that again. It was a crappy Tonka Truck game running on Windows 98.

It was PROBABLY Super Mario Collection on the SNES ie 1,2,3 and Lost Worlds. 2 was the easiest and 3 the hardest. But 3 was my fav until I picked up Super Mario World 2, still my all time fav Side scrolling Mario.
However the earliest CLEAR memory was of Donkey Kong Country, which I will now and again actually do a speed run to beat it in an hour, sometimes I do sometimes I don't.

Man, reading through this list I too feel kinda old...

The only ones I can really put names to are the arcade originals like Space Invaders, Asteroids, Command Control... And my favorites a few years later on were Millipede and Star Wars... "Use the Force Luke!"

Consoles would be Atari Defenders.

PC would be Prince of Persia and SpeedBall.
