The title pretty much explains what im goign to ask here, so il go into my first game.

It was Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2, I played it at a young age but i was never off it. I learnt by memory what each move was and what the button combo for each special (spesific to the skater) did. I also gained fast fingers on that game, enabling me to pull of some incredible lines.

Bonus: Latest game you got good at - Latest game to be really good at? erm.. il say Black Ops Multiplayer.

I can't think of any games I got proper good at.
Recently I've been "not bad" (which, for me, is amazingly good) at Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. I never expected to win any matches online, so getting a 6 win streak in Ranked Matches was quite the pleasant surprise.

That said, as my rank goes up, I'm going against people that actually know what they're doing. How am I meant to win without an unfair advantage over new players?!

[sub]Dormammu, Spencer and Iron Man, if anyone was wondering.[/sub]

Crash Team Racing. I'm still totally and completely unbeatable at that game. If there's only one game in the world which I have mastered, it's CTR

First game I got really good at was, of course, the first game I ever had.
Namely Mario Kart Double Dash.
It wasn't so much that I worked really hard at being good, but that it was the only video game I owned for two years.
With nothing else to play, I invented strategies and was obnoxious on Gamespot forums.
...good times...

And hey, My level 100 Swampert rocks. XD

The first competitive game (i.e. against friends), I got good at was probably Super Smash Bros Melee. Me and my friends had never played a Smash Bros game before, so we were all new to the mechanics and we all got really good at the game.

The first games I got good at were all the Sonic games for the Mega Drive (Genesis), excluding Sonic 3D. Then again, at times I played pretty much nothing else. Well, until I got my hands on a GBA and Golden Sun anyway...

Mine was probably Timesplitter: Future Perfect multiplayera, or rather split screen multiplayer. I was amazing compared to all my friends who had the game and could beat a lot of older people I knew but the few times I managed to get online I was actually pretty average, if not actually kind of bad. So I'm not sure if that counts.

For me it would have to be Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo... Yeah the gem game one. I'd go through Master mode without losing a single round. I actually bought the XBLA version when it came out too - but I swear the AI's easier now, or maybe it's just you can instant-drop gems in this version.

ra3 beta, was one of the top 5 players. after that it was mostly some ruse, cnc3kw.

You cant say you are good if you dont compare yourself to the best aka worldwide ladder, not just ur friends or single player games...
You can, you're just getting good and excellent/amazing mixed up.

People have a habbit of understating how good they are, or perhaps they think they can keep getting better. I've seen it a lot on forums were players in the top 5% will only classify themselves as average.

For example; I'd say if you could beat multiple AIs on the hardest difficulty in Command and Conquer then you can probably safely refer to yourself as good.

It's a fun experience for a matured gamer sick of the endless identical Cod games but when I was younger playing it online line just ruined the fun of childhood.. or maybe I'm making too much of a big deal out of it :)

But yeah you totally should, great game if you can still find lobbys or whatever that game did.

First game I actually got good at would have to be Golden Eye N64, i had more hours in that game then I did while being awake.

But if I were to say the first game I good enough for professional level then I would have to say Fear Combat. that game was soo cash.

Tekken 3, nobody I knew even came close.

On retrospect I was just another noob who knew how to do all the moves...but that's way more than you could say for most of my competition.

I suppose getting really good depends on the time and place. Back then it really seemed I was really good due to lack of competition and online play. In actuality, I doubt any of us have gotten really good at any game ever, if we take into consideration the worldwide plateau.

I'm sorta ok at Blazblue which i've been playing for 2 years...but the actual really good at it people would probably beat me without trouble.
