Ugh, Jill looks like a crappier version of X-23.

Do not want.
Her alternate costume will be Jill's classic outfit?

Did anyone else notice the trailer vid for Shuma-Gorath's had a fairly long fight against Chun-Li including it grabbing and wrapping her up in it's tentacles?

Yeah, these guys already have strategies and frame data in the highly sought Brady Games strategy guide, so it wasn't really an "if" as much as a "when".

Also I'm glad Frank West (hopefully) won't be in the game. He's already in TvC, so there's no need to re-use him IMO. Keep TvC and MvC 3 separate, I still play them both (sorry Giga, I still owe you that match!). I know Megaman will be in this game though, otherwise they wouldn't have put Volnutt in TvC (they would have put the original instead).

All I'm saying is give me Dr. Strange and make him Phoenix broken. I'd love it.

Man, all this talk of Day One DLC and full characters on the disc makes me wonder where SNK Playmore is in all of this. Ah, if SNK were around, we'd be talking about King of Fighters XIII right now. Shame.

But fuck yeah, Zero Jill Sandwich! And a tenticle monster that will most likely fight her inappropriately.
SNK Playmore are trying their hardest to survive. They've been trying to get the English speaking world to buy KOF games on a large scale since 98 and '02 UM (which didn't sell much to begin with). They're still an awesome company, but a very Japanese company. They don't like changing things and neither do their Eastern fans.

But no Sakura VS Shuma Gorrath to relive the classic Tencacle-

I mean...what?

Just to let you guys know as well that Jill is hardly a re-hash or a crappier version of X-23. She has overheads, she has a teleport that slips through projectiles and low attacks, and she has a command stance. AND she has a hyper mode similar to Zero's Sogemu that maes her go Super Saiyan, and a command throw that opens the opponent up for a combo.

If you ask me, THAT makes all the difference. X-23 had to go in from the air to close the gap on projectile characters. Jill can instantly bypass character's like Arthur's zoning tactics (which people hate). I'm all for this.

That being said though, she IS similar, and that's a shame. They could have gotten someone less similar to the cast, but I'm confident they will.

Who do you think will get used more between the two? I think it's dependent on who has the most broken crap first. Jill already has a loop/infinite.

Oh don't worry, we will have that match.
As soon as i break TvC back in.
Between MvC2, SoulC4, and MvC3 i haven't been playing it all that much...

And i honestly don't know because BOTH look increadably awesome.
From what iv seen of Jill's infinite(i have the guide but haven't been referencing it all that much) its pretty technecial and Shuma-Gorath is Shuma-Gorath.
I can actually see then both being used quite a lot, which makes me cringe at a Shuma/Jill, Sentinel, Dante team.
But hey, that's why i learned to play as Akuma.

You wanna spam Stinger shots Dante?
You like using Sentinel force and Neutralize Sentinel?
Well say hello to my Diagonal GOHADOKEN.

And once again Capcom gets a bunch of people to pay for content that's on the disc.

I like the MvC games but I know half the fighters are going to be sold off piecemeal so I'm holding off for a goty edition.

It kind of sucks that to buy a complete game now a days you don't just pay the initial $60 but some mystery price that we wont know for another couple of years. If they're going to sell two characters at a time until they get to MvC2's 56 count roster, anyone who wants the whole game is about to be taken for a ride.
I see what you did there...

And I like it.

OT: I can't say I really care about either of them. Still no Megaman, still no Venom, still no Phoenix Wright, still no Frank West, and no KEN!?

What the fuck guys?
I was wondering if someone was going to catch that. That jingle sure does get my friends and I to choose our characters quickly.

You know they aren't leaving them out - especially not Megaman, Venom, and Ken. You're just going to have to pay $5 for each of them in a couple of months.

I may be the only one who feels this way but my desire to play this game is starting wear thin. At first I was like the majority and all "OMG, MvC3! All the characters and their moves look amazing!" However now, all of the characters and their moves are beginning to look similar. All of the characters have rapid melee attacks that can link between ground and air combos and they all have a flashy rapid attack special ability.

I haven't seen anything that would allow much variety in gameplay. Where are the heavy defensive characters that a player may want to use a turtle strategy with or the trap characters that goad their opponents into chasing them around the screen only to get caught and set-up?

I'm not trying to downplay the game and I guess I can't really judge it since I've only seen videos and haven't actually played it (my plan is to wait for all of the DLC characters to be released and then discounted in a combined DLC package) but after looking at so many videos, the characters are just starting to blur together to me. Maybe my perception will change when I get to play it.
If you want a Turtle guy then look at Haggar.
He can play both offensive and defensive extremely effectively.

As for traps, M.O.D.O.K, Joe, Chris, Heinsen-Ko are all pretty good trap characters.

All the characters are pretty different from each other, its just that this is a Fast Paced Fighting Game so they all will have some good fast melee combos.
And MvC has always been REALLY flashy.
Flashy indeed. Thanks for the response, I'll definitely look into this. I should probably be less of an ignorant gamer and have a hands on session with the game

Hahaha, its ok.
I do know exactly how you feel, but underneath all the flashy moves is a really great fighter.
