My first was either a copy of Team Fortress that I found I had one day or Rouge Spear from Rainbow Six that my cousin and I would play. I don't remember. It was arround the same time, so it could be one or the other. But I do know that Rouge Spear was the one that I played more. My cousin and I would play 2 on 6 and win every time. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you watch your team mates back.

Hmmmm Tony Hawks Underground 2? Or Star Wars Battlefront. One of those most likely. I played 4 in a row on the lego site as a child though :p

Either Quake or Team Fortress. Come to think of it, that was a network game in high school. We had internet, but didn't play anything online. I think we had internet as far back as 1990 or so. Might've played Doom 2 on the network in high school. Fun times, fun times.

Ugh... maybe Warcraft. I can't remember. The connect speed, I believe, was somewhere between retarded turtle and painful.

What came out first? Warcraft 2 or Duke Nukem 3D?

It was either diablo or starcraft. not exactly sure which came first. i think diablo. But my connection was a state of the art 56k dialup modem that would usually connect through AOL at a stunning 28k. Also were the days where guilds were no more then some abreviations next to your name and a newsletter via. email. Goodtimes.

I would like to add my e-peen into the mix here...

Doom, 1994, 9600 baud external modem.

Now that was some interesting deathmatch.

I think it was Halo IIRC, or perhaps battlefield 1942. That was a while ago though, so I'm having trouble remembering.

The FIRST game I played across a network was Doom (DWANGO over modem!), using my hayes compatible 14.4 KHz modem. The first game I played "online" was Duke Nukem 3D, using a third party application that allowed online (albiet, terribly laggy) games. The first game I truly played online without odd caveats was Quake, fallowed quickly by the popular mod Team Fortress (and later I tended to prefer TF Mega, which altered the rules somewhat).

My first MMORPG was Arctic, a MUD. My first graphical MMO was Anarchy Online. The first game I played on high speed internet was Counter Strike. The first game I played on XBL was COD 4.
