Diablo 2 even though I played single player for awhile, I had a 28 Kbit connection back then. But first multi player experience would be Super Mario Bros 3, good ol times...

Diablo 2 was my first game played online, though it was just me and a friend co-oping it.

My first actual online multiplayer game was Shadowrun, and is pretty much the only one I was ever good at (probably because it encourages you to be an underhanded bastard right from the beginning).

My first online games were Quake 1 and Jazz Jackrabbit 2, around 1998. This was on a 56K modem so Quake didn't run all that fast, but Jazz Jackrabbit was the bomb!

My first online experience was probably Quake 3: Arena. It was awesome back then. I got all my FPS skills from it, that I still use. Being able to walk while aiming, strafing properly, knowing that standing still = death, and more of such things.

My connection speed was a 1200 modem which connected to a local BBS via the telephone.
I think one of you just won the thread. What year was that? 1994? 1995?

First one I ever played was Halo 3's online at a pal's house. The first one I actually got for myself and enjoyed was Resident Evil 5's online versus.

It was C&C Generals: Zero Hour it was an amazing game one of the first games to focus on modern times in war. I liked the online because, you could always find a game, and there were rankings.

Well I was playing BBS games well before Dragons and Meridian... but its not a contest...

Id say I would have started around 1991 with BBS based games. Somewhere in there I played Sierra's "The Realm" for a bit too... lol man that was lame, even for its day :)
