sequels can't "ruin" whatever they're based on. Even if something awesome gets a shitty sequel, it still exists in it's awesome state, unchanged and untarnished by it's shitty follow up. It just means that the first one was better. It doesn't mean that the first is somehow worsened.

I love Valve they have intuative games and there pretty much the only company with a humor about them selves.

EA is the worst company cause all they do is remake games.

Well, to me, I love turn based combat.

A major example is the Fire Emblem games. I'd plan out my turn in my head, and then get to see how it worked on the battlefield, and if the AI responded how I expected it to. If not, I'd have to rethink my strategy.

So, basically, I think the appeal is mainly for people who like to test their logical and strategic thinking against Artificial Intelligence.
