8.5 from IGN.

7.7 from Gametrailers.

Jim was a bit disappointed at Destructoid and gave it a 7.0 [http://www.destructoid.com/review-saints-row-the-third-215423.phtml].
As a huge fan of the last game, I want to shout this sequel's merits from the rooftops, but while the experience is often amusing and littered with some remarkable moments, I cannot help but feel a little let down by the final product. It's still a good game at its core, but it's not a patch on its predecessor, as it seems to have forgotten about Saints Row 2's achievements in its blinkered pursuit of extremity. It took me over two weeks to beat Saints Row 2, and I still wanted to stay in Stilwater. I concluded Saints Row: The Third in less than two days and feel no compulsion to return to Steelport anytime soon.
He even said he thinks they might have kept the experience short to help them sell the planned DLC.

From what I've read/seen, I actually think I'll buy Saints Row 2 sometime in the nearish future rather than this. The price difference and the quality comparison makes it seem like a better deal.

That's all a bit disappointing if that's the case, I still plan on picking it up personally as I need a game that I can play for short bursts and inject a bit of fun back in my life after another soul crushing day at work. DLC can work wonders for a game, but it shouldn't be relied on to boost a game that's brand new, it should be used near the end of a games life to breathe a bit of fresh air back into it.

I really liked SR2, had hoped for SR3 to at least be on par and possibly be better. Oh well, as long as it puts a smile on my face and can fill the gaps between my skyrim sessions I'll be a happy bunny ^.^

Jim is quite trustworthy. I usually find his negative reviews of games I love quite agreeable, I just feel their flaws are redeemed by their good features while he doesn't. Saints row is over-hyped and not a patch on GTA. In truth it's more similar in design to twisted metal than GTA. If they had rockstars budget I'm sure they could get closer, but as it is they're happy to create a very cheap and puerile experience.

but I don't want it to be GTA, GTA got serious and lost my attention, where as Saint's Row is daft, silly but more importantly fun, and that's what keeps me entertained!
