This gal I knew since I was about 13 was a big one, friend of a friend. When we met I didn't say anything to her at the time. Instead went through about god knows how many other relationships/flings/whathaveyou. Her and I were casual friends maybe seeing each other at parties or events about half a dozen times a year.
Shortcut to 10 years later I finally tell her what I think and asked her out, skip one more year now we're engaged.

I had a partner recently, really proper long term etc. and I loved her more than anything. Words cannot describe what I would do for her. Then, she had to move to Australia. We were both devastated. It was a bad time, but I still talk to her all the time, and we've both since moved on to different people.

There's my depressing love story.

On the subject of crushes, I currently know three people who have a crush on me, one of which I do back. I'm currently at the "flirting" stage.
